How do I check if my system passes? If it's still running after 10 hours does that mean it passed? Or is there errors somewhere to look for?

Prime95 is a crowd favorite, and most of us let the torture test run for 12-24hrs to test stability. It will tell you when it errors.

I got a 96k Self-Passed message when I ran it for about 10 hours. If you can run Prime 95 for 6 to 10 hours your system is rock solid.

Like John says, 12-24hrs is what you should shoot for.

I've had a few tests error out between 12-16hrs so I like to run for 24hrs if I can possibly spare the time.

You don't have to check for anything. If it errors, the program will stop and give you an error message and code. Plus, the icon in the system try (assuming you have that turned on) will turn from red to yellow. BTW, I'd suggest running Prime95 with 3DMark in the background for at least 8 hours as well, even if you're only checking the stability of your processor. I've been able to run Prime95 before for hours, but crashed 3DMark when the two were run together. Had to up the voltage on my CPU another .25V.

i use p95. i usually set the priority to normal or higher, and make sure if youre using a p4 with HT to set the affinity correctly. i run tests, and if it crashes, i usually up the voltage slightly. if it passes like other people have said, 24 hours, i lower the voltage until you get the lowest voltage with greatest stability.

p4 2.6c @ 3.250 @ 1.575
p95 - 52 hours

but it crashed that night. hehe. good luck
