i LOVE prime rib, not a fan of Fillet Mignon, although the GF is.

i prefer mine Medium Rare.

Filet. I'm not a huge fan of prime rib and for $10 more at a hypothetical #1 steak house I wouldn't waste my time with prime rib.

im not a huge eater, so i'd agree with fillet. straight up medium for me
if they are thick, you have a change of ending up gettin a med-rare in the middle anyway.
i love fillets.
heh, what a contrast
a local restaurant that i used to work for charged $23 for an 8oz fillet. ;) it was good, great i might say
went on a cruise once with my family, the fillet they had one night was outstanding. im more of a chicken person, but if the meat is as tender and tasty as a fillet, i will eat it lol

Of the two, at a steak restaraunt, I'd probably go with Fillet (medium rare, possibly medium).

Normally i only ever eat strip steak medium rare... it is a texture thing.

but given a choice of the two ... i would go with the filet.

The prime rib is about 4x the size of a filet :p

Rib eyes (prime rib sans bone, sans cord of fat in the middle) are probably a better comparison.

I'd probably go with a filet over a prime rib at a fancy restaurant, but probably a rib eye over both if that was an option. For home cookin, prime rib all the way. Med rare.

That's some expensive prime rib. I hope it's big...this past Friday I had a 24 oz. cut of prime rib for $33. It was a HUGE piece of meat, and damn fine.

I'd take prime rib over a filet as well.
