I once had purchased 10 ramchips from bestbuy for free after rebate, and PNY emailed me back that I could only receive one. Clearly stated on the form was the words NO LIMIT so i went back to bestbuy and got the general manager... and guess what! CASH IN THE POCKET within 5 minutes! had to show them all the stuff i had photocopied first!

<< I've had enough of their monkey business and have done the following (and suggest that others stuck in this deal do likewise).

First, file a MAIL FRAUD COMPLAINT WITH US POSTAL SYSTEM. Since you mailed your rebate, this is a postal issue now.

Then, file a COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB (BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU).

I put REBATESHQ down as the company I'm filing the complaint with as they are the one who is hosing up the rebates.

I've had excellent success with filing a BBB complaint (filed 4 complaints and all 4 were quickly resolved to my satisfaction). I don't know if this will hold, but it doesn't take much time and it's easy to do online. If enough complaints are filed, the authorities will be interested.
>>

Bob,

What is RebatesHQ's street address and all that other info? I want to use the same info you used so the USPS and BBB know they are reading about the same company as other people.

thanks

I had 2 rebates for prime peripherals modems from Staples. I just went in to the B&M store and they gave me an instant rebate after I told them I had called tca and they were no longer handling pperiph rebates. I also tried to call a new number tca gave me and got some mumbo jumbo message. That is what prompted me to go to Staples and get my money. Staples was very nice about it.

<< I dont beleive we will ever see the CDR rebate >>

I can't believe that you people who are complaining about this have not seen the details posted in the rebate status thread here, or on the alt.comp.periphs.cdr newsgroup where this has been discussed for several weeks now. Someone contacted this guy Dirk Kettlewell who is a VP of electronics at OfficeMax and he got the guy's rebate delivered in a week. I called and spoke to him and also exchanged some email with someone there and I received my rebate last Saturday. Here is a post from the newsgroup with details on who to contact. I am told you can also call 1-877-OFFICEMAX and ask to speak to Jennifer or Dirk (and be firm about it) and they can transfer you. Going into your local store and giving your information to the store manager will probably accomplish the same thing. Note the check I received was from Parago (aka Rebateshq.com) and seemed to be manually generated.

Important things to note:

1) Parago is rejecting every one of the Prime Peripheral rebate forms which is not 100% complete (ie, phone, fax, email address, even if you don't have one of them they do not care). This is under orders from PP because they want to avoid paying as many rebates as possible.

2) Even if they do not reject the rebate requests, it is not clear when/if they will cut you a check if you do not get OM to intercede.

3) There is absolutely no evidence that the JohnM guy at PP who everyone keeps writing to is doing anything more than saying "yes" to make people feel good. No one has reported receiving a rebate as a result of speaking to him. My opinion: talk to the place you bought it because it is the only chance you have of getting paid, whether the rebate has been rejected at Parago or it's still sitting waiting to be paid.

Here is the OM contact info:

> Called Dirk Kettlewell's office at Officemax and he directed me to his
> administrative assistant named Jennifer Dewey. She said she intends to
> get everyone's rebate who submitted one and will you will have it in
> '14' days. Jennifers direct number is 216-471-3331 and she told me
> that if I do not have my check in 14 days to call her back right away.
> I think that OfficeMax is trying as hard as they can to get this issue
> resolved ASAP.

Good luck!

I'll second Bill's post. I've talked directly to Ms.Dewey, and she promised the check to be received within 14 days. She's collecting all the information and forwarding it directly to the rebate company, and pointed out that OfficeMax is intended to ensure rebates got sent out (regardless of lack of e-mail,phone,etc). She's very professional about it and apologize for all the trouble. Makes me feel a bit better about the whole issue, now let just see if we got the check soon!

For those that ARE validated on the rebateshq site, I talked to a CSR there yesterday and she said that the rebate would be mailed within 30 days of validation date (May 18th for me). The rebateshq CSRs have given me accurate info in the past (for Staples rebates), so I have no reason to doubt the accuracy of the 30 day claim.

That 30 day quote is ingrained in the brain of those employees. I asked them about a Photosuite rebate that has been sitting in their system since March (I am told that MGI is also having problems meeting their committments). She told me it would be printed within 30 days. I strongly doubt that this will be the case. Do not rely on it and contact OM instead. THEY WILL GET IT ISSUED FOR YOU.

<< rufruf44
Do you have a email address for Ms Dewey ?
>>

No, just called her via OfficeMax phone number and provide the information. They seemed to know
who I'm talking about.

Has anyone been added to recieve the PP rebates from Officemax 3/11/2001-3/17/2001 on RebateHQ's website for PP rebate offer #50 (CD-ROM) or #51 (56k Modem) ?

I have not been added and three of my friends who ordered from Officemax.com are not listed yet. I was told they are in the process of adding name but yet to find a person who was added ?

I heard that they are dealing with the CDR's first and will worry about the modem and CD-ROM drive later this month.

I called the number you listed, left a voice mail and Jennifer returned my call. She said I wshould receive my check within 14 days and likewise if I don't I should give her a call. Nice to see there is some life to getting this problem resolved 🙂

I put in the PO Box and Coppell TX. That should be enough for them to make contact with REBATESHQ 🙂

chefsresource:
Call Officemax's corporate number, I posted it in the rebate tracking thread. Talk to Jennifer Dewey. She said that all the 200 Pack cdr $45 rebates will be paid. She said that if you call her, she will make sure that you get paid, even if rebateshq denied you.

So call her.

If you got denied you will still get paid if you call her.

call (216-295-6603)

one prime rebate overdue pass a year now.
i don't think they really intend to refund you money.
it's just a way to lure you into buying expensive blank media.
they are a bunch of liers.

The Better Business Bureau have been having alot of trouble with the laws and Mainly for FRAUD. Fox News had a reporter investigate them but they refuse to talk to them. I am surprised they are still available because they were sued left and right.

Btw, what does Better Business Bureau have to do with this? (I have no knowledge of them)

Liars is spelled with an "A". Say "Cheese"! 😀

riznick:
I tried calling Jennifer w/ the number listed and its not a valid number. Can you please double check the number.

Thanks.🙂

riznick:
nevermind..
found it on previous post. 216-471-3331 hope this works *cross fingers*

Will somebody please email me info on how to make sure my $45 officemax 200cdr prime peripherals rebate is being processed? Such as an email to email to, sites, etc.? Thanks in advance!

I guess based on so much grieves out there on Prime Peripheral, it seems that they ought to change their name to something like "Rebate sucks" to do business again.
