If they are right, that would spell the end for PrimeGrid, right? Also I think cryptography would be in for some changes.

I asked about this on mersenneforum.org. They gave me a non-paywalled link. It looks like it finds likely primes in ranges where the numbers are "not too large". 10^6 is not too large. PrimeGrid is working on numbers around 10^1000000. That's probably too large.
