Prime 95 and dual core testing..help please

Ok..I installed prime95 2414...renamed folder Prime 95 cpu 0 and then copied all the items in to a folder Prime 95 cpu 1

made shortcut for each to desktop....
opened the each folder...started 2 instances of Prime 95....then for each Prime 95, I started small fft

then open task manager and went to each prime 95.exe and set affinty to cpu 0 only for one and then affinity to cpu 1 only for the other..

task manager reports for each Prime95.exe...50% cpu utilization..at the bottom reports 100% cpu use

why is each core not reporting 100%...I have doubled checked the settings

Try SP-2004..... Create a short-cut, then just open it twice...

in the cpu usage graph, is it at 100%?

I should have added I was looking under processes which had each Prime95.exe at 50%

Under the graph if I had it show graph for each core they were at 100% but I did not have Prime 95 instance set to one cpu core..but task manager did..not sure if this matter or not oh well

I stopped prime after about 3.5hrs with setup...


I will get it tested more accurately

does not have you set affinity in task manager..wonder if it matters whether you set affinity in task manager vs Prime 95...or do you need both

anyway when i followed DFI street directions..task manager still has affinty set for both cores...


do you still have to set affinity in task manager if you follow dfi street recommendation or set affinity in Prime 95/SP 2004
