A PRIEST has died after trying to demonstrate how Jesus walked on water.

Evangelist preacher Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation he could repeat the biblical miracle.

But he drowned after walking out to sea from a beach in the capital Libreville in Gabon, west Africa.

One eyewitness said: "He told churchgoers he'd had a revelation that if he had enough faith, he could walk on water like Jesus.

"He took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat.

"He walked into the water, which soon passed over his head and he never came back."

I wish more people would have revelations like this.

just what i was thinking.

howabout when he noticed he was failing to walk on the water.. that.. um... he should turn away then? he failed at life because he didn't know that water over your head = drown if you don't turn back.

The really scary part is that he is a priest.

A priest who has misunderstood God to this extent is not spiritually fit to preach the word of God.

Duh, it takes 20 minutes to cross by boat. They probably were unaware he wasn't coming back for at least an hour. ;)

Good rule of thumb: if you talk to God, you're religious. If God talks to you, you're delusional.

Well how did he drown? Did he just sink like a stone as he kept walking, or did he float (like he should have) and start flailing his arms? Unless this guy was as dense as gold, he wouldn't have been able to just keep walking with water over his head.

scarily enough, he might of thought that God would save him.

And I'm actually being serious here.

Umm...God DOES talk to you. Just maybe not in the way you think.

God talks through other people to you, and also guides you mentally.

Kinda difficult to explain, but I am talking through personal experience here.

Believe what you want, just realize I have no reason to say anything but the truth.
