Priest molests 4 y/o girl because she sexually harassed him

Now that that's out of the way: Catholics don't refer to their priests as "pastors". Yes, it is true that every church has a "head priest" whose official title is "pastor", it is very rare that they would ever go by that term, and they still refer to themselves and are refered to simply as "priests". The article does not say "priest", it says "pastor" which says to me that it's probably a preacher from some form of protestant (i.e. non-Catholic Christian) church.

Per capita more atheists do more of anything than a handful of priests. You have a few bad apples in the ranks of the church and the mob tries to paint all of them the same way.

The percentage of priests who prey on kids isn't the problem, the lack of accountability they have traditionally had is what has people up in arms.
 
Ya the clergy thing is bad. Its almost as bad as parents sexually assaulting their children . That is 100,000 X as often as the clergy. Or the reported clinton abuses . Or bus driver abuses . The list goes on and on . There are bad people in all walks of life . Its when they are in trusted care that it becomes headlines. Hell murder an actor and the media well run the story for a year. That Actor is no more important than the least of us . The Morality of this country is in shambles

Questionnaire analysis revealed some telling data. Religion was important for 85 percent of subjects—in fact, for nearly half, it was the most important thing in their lives.

Simply put, being religious is a symptom of extreme mental illness. This is similar to how sitting close to the TV is a symptom of vision problems or how daytime fatigue is a symptom of sleep apnea. If you know someone who is very religious, it might be important to understand why they became so religious. Schizophrenics often justify voices in their heads as being the voices of god or the voices of demons.
