Pricing for Kentsfield?

Prolly $500 for the cheapest one. But after seeing the Alan Wake demo I think it may be worth it.

not even remotely. They're killing their market with this agme for one, and secondly the game could be utter crap for all we know, graphics and technology don't make a good game. Furthermore it seemed to me that they built the game because Intel asked them to and flaunted money in their face if they made something they could show off. I'm not sold on it as most of the recent releases in PC gaming have been disappointing for me.

That was a tech demo, not what the actually game will be. They will have to scale things down so that somewhat reasonable system can run the game. They said that the game will run on a HT-enabled P4, with reduced physics and effects.

They WILL be $1k at first, since it will be an extreme edition CPU. I believe we'll see the first non-XE part in 2007Q1 but I haven't heard anything about a possible price range.

I know, but there's too many people who hear a bunch of big words and see some fancy pictures and say "WOW that game is good" and it makes me sad inside. There's not many receint games on the PC that have that level of quality that something like Diablo2 and Baldur's Gate once had in their day. At least for me.

You should be shot for comparing Diablo 2 to Baldur's Gate. :disgust:

No, you should go back to 3rd grade and learn to read and understand the english language.

I never compared them. Read what I said, NOT what you think I said.

Diablo 2 was never a quality game. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 were akin to Michelango's David. Perfection. Diablo 2 was more like a train wreck.

That's your opinion, and there's millions of people who spent many hours playing D2 and some people still play it. They would disagree.

Oh yeah! C'mon guys! Let's start a fight! (J/k! 😛)

Well, they will most likely be $1k like Furen said because...you know...AMD's quad-core is supposedly costs $1k so we'll assume that Intel wants to go the same route.

I was one of those people. I own a copy of both D2 and LoD. No idea what happened to my D1 CD though, it disappeared during one of my moves for Uncle Sam.

But D2 pales in comparison to BG1/2/NWN/PST and even IWD1/2 in all aspects save for the cutscenes. Gameplay, story, dialogue, plot, and even graphics are all dominated by real RPGs. D2 is just a mindless clickfest item grind. If you want to debate this further though, make a thread in Software.

Thanks for the replies about Kentsfield everyone. I'll have to evaluate it when it hits retail next year.

Core 2 Quad QX6700 will be $999 for 1000pcs so about $1100 from etailers.. com'n November

Core 2 Quad Q6600, is rumored to be a little more than E6700, but by Q1 2007 , E6700 should drop price, so i m guessing Q6600 will be $530 when it come out at Jan, 2007.

and yeah i still play starcraft, even though i can run AOE 3 maxed with 70fps cosntantly
