Why does it suck if the site accepts Paypal only?

You can use a credit card and don't need to be a Paypal member (from what it looks like -- I've never used Paypal)

because you are far more vulnurable to fraud and less likely to get your money back if something goes wrong. also, any vendor without a credit card merchant account is probably very small and likely unreliable. this is of course not a rule, but just in general.
