Hello everyone, my friend's mom wants to get a computer for basic stuff, like msword and internet and such. I have a pretty old Dell L933R with a PIII 933mhz, 512mb RAM, 60GB HD, and some intel video chipset. I'll also be putting winxp pro on it. I was wondering what a reasonable price would be for this type of comp. Knowing how little she knows about comps, I could charge her some ridiculous price but I don't want to scam her at all. Her max budget is $300, but I don't think it could reach that high.

If anyone could help me I'd very much appreciate it.

I'd say 100 without the OS is a pretty reasonable price for that computer. I'd bump it to 150 or so with the legit copy of Windows XP.
 
150 is pretty good including XP Pro... but one suggestion.
Make sure you don't end up as her tech support contact!
