Sorry, but I don't like Buy.com . I don't like their $10/call customer service, and I don't like their "free" shipping for which they charge for "handling" and then take 14-21 days to get it to you via mule train. (Actually there is no postal service that takes that long, buy.com just sit on your order for a couple of weeks to punish you for not coughing up for S&H).

It depends on which part of the store you purchase from. The following is from their site:
Handling Fee
Applies to cover the cost to process and fulfill buy.com orders purchased from the Computers, Software, Electronics, and Clearance stores.
Basket Totals Handling Fee
0 - $24.99 $ .95
$25.00 - $49.99 $1.95
$50.00 - $99.99 $2.95
$100.00 - $199.99 $3.95
>$200 $4.95
In the good old days buy.com had a large call center that you could call to ask questions, deal with problems, etc. After they bottomed out they went to an email customer service center. You can still call them but they want to charge you $10 no matter what you are calling about. They use this call charge method to keep their customer service center costs low. They did this along with adding the free shipping with a handling charge, increasing their prices and reducing the number and amount of coupons and discounts. They also started charging a shipping charge in their clearance section and use low end dealers to supply items for their clearance section. All of these changes have kept them in business but they lost a lot of business from folks around here because of the changes. I'm surprised they are still in business.Originally posted by: Jim
