I ordered this monitor from NEWEGG on 12/20 and my rebate was postmarked 12/27 and my claim was DENIED which is plain bogus! i can't seem to find the rebate form for this from newegg, does anyone have it? i plan on calling them and complaining up a storm as I followed the rebate to a tee. so be warned trying to get a rebate on this, apparently they are out to scam you. It seems rebates are getting to be more and more of a pain, this is the 3rd one recently I've had problems with.

I've had mine about three weeks and am very satisfied with it, text and all. I purchased it from newegg, mailed in the rebate and 'wheresmyrebate.com' shows that it was accepted although I haven't received it yet.

Buy.com now has it with a $10 instant rebate bringing it to $214.99 AR. This might be the best deal considering Amazon jsut raised their price.

wheresmyrebate.com is garbage, they don't even have a toll free number, so if they mess up you gotta pay to fix it, and i'm on hold right now, ridiculous.

Just letting you guys know, I ordered on January 14th from amazon.com and as of today they still haven't shipped it. I also contacted them via email complaining about the rebate deadline. However, they have yet to contact me back at all so I cancelled my order. Honestly, I guess I wasn't as lucky as some of the other people who had their LCD's shipped 2-3 days after purchase.

That is extremely strange. I ordered mine a day after you (1/15) and it shipped in two days, even with free shipping selected. I would recommend contacting them via phone instead of email. You can get any issues resolved immediately (1-800-201-7575). Since you cancelled your order already, maybe you can still hop onto the deal on Buy.com.

Yeah, I had trouble finding the # before so I figured emailing them would be better than nothing. But it's all good: I believe everything happens fo ra reason so I guess this just means I have to wait till I can afford a higher quality monitor.

Thanks for your input,
Tony

I actually had a hard time finding the number for Amazon customer service as well. No matter where I go on Amazon.com, I just cannot find it. I ended up going onto Google and did a search for "Amazon phone number." First hit gave me the number! :) I guess others had problems finding the number too.

Incase anyone is still interested in this.. I ordered mine from PC Connection. It was $299 + $18 Shipping - $75 rebate. So, it's $18 more than any one else, but they shipped it out the same day I ordered it.

Any one else having rebate problems? I still haven't sent mine in.

I just got "rejected" on my $75 "rebate". Reason? None! Gave up trying to call after being on hold for 30 minutes, will try again on Monday. I sent in one barcode from the box, the one that said "UPC", to keep the letter weight under one ounce. Which one did they want? All of them? The rebate company is TCA Fulfillment Services, Inc and they seem to handle most rebates. They recommend registering with them. When I did, a rebate for a DVD burner was approved within minutes, even though I sent it in 4 weeks ago! I bought the Senergy714 from NewEgg, the DVD burner from VideoGuys.

P.S. I finally got through, the phone phlunky said it was a "mistake" and that my rebate will be mailed March 31st. We'll see.

They look about the same. They both are 16 ms 6-bit panels. I'd say the major differences are in ergonomics and the fact that the Princeton has speakers. There are a few small differences, namely the Sony has a 500:1 contrast ratio vs. a 450:1 ratio, and the Sony puts out 400 cd/m2 vs. 300 cd/m2.

Personally, I bought the Princeton and love it. It's definitely not worth paying an extra $160 to get a little brighter monitor when the Princeton is bright enough for most anything.

I've had this monitor since early January and been pleased with it. The rebate on the other hand is not even showing up on 'wheresmyrebate.com' and I sent everthing in almost a month ago. Looks like they'll be getting a phonecall.

I bought from NewEgg on 12/27 and did everything right and the rebate got rejected because "STORE RECEIPT NOT SUBMITTED\SEND PACKING SLIP\ORIGINAL PURCHASE NOT DURING REBATE PERIOD\PCHSED --VALID DATES: 12/01/04-01/31/05\INVALID, INCOMPLETE OR ALTERED RECEIPT" WTF?!?

I ordered from Amazon.com on 1/13, received my monitor on 1/20, sent in the rebate the very next day, and today (2/18), I received an email from wheresmyrebate.com notifying me that my rebate has been approved. I still have to wait another 8 weeks to actually receive my rebate, but at least it has been approved. When mailing in the rebate, I sent in every possible thing I could, including the entire sticker that the UPC appeared on, which I believe included the serial number and one other thing. I also sent them both the receipt printed from Amazon as well as the packing slip. Hope you guys are getting the rebate as well.

They sure are. See ripoffreport.

I had a Netgear and Viking rebate from them. I eventually got them, but they took 6 and 7 months to send those rebates. If I see TCA, Wheresmyrebate or a New Rochelle, NY address on the rebate form, I stay away.

HEY...Also got my $75 rebate last week from TCA, Wheresmyrebate.com in New Rochelle, NY. I was initially worried when read all the negative threads on them. But if you fill out your forms correctly and send them in priority mail and on time, it ended up being a painless experience and a damn inexpensive first class LCD monitor which I love. I'd say if you get a chance to get an AR sale on this Synergy 17" LCD, go for it.

I got the Princeton VL1917, its basically the same thing at costco with a lifetime warranty (almost all products have it) and I can return it anytime for a full refund. Even after 3-4 years they'll give me all the money back if I can hold on to my receipt and packaging. At that time they'll prolly be bigger monitors and better quality.
