guys i have heard the ATI & Nvidia is planning to cut prices of there GPU is this true? if yes can anybody tell me how much & when will they cut price?

Questions end in question marks, please. This really does cause problems from time to time when people think it's an announcement

Next time, do not create a topic title that sounds like that, because people reading these forum, will get the wrong impression, that you REALLY know something about a price cut and you're not just spreading what you heard through your neighborhood. At least use a question mark for god sake!
 
Why do I have a feeling that betasub only posted what he did because error8 posted what he did ?

EDIT: Although if there are price cuts coming, I would like to know as well. But I do know the GTX260 has reached eol. The Core 216 is all that is going to be released as a 260 here on out.

On topic: I heard that there were going to be GTX 260 (core 216, obviously) price cuts, but I haven't heard anything about other cards from ATi or nVidia.

They will cut prices by some percentage, and it will be sometime in the future.

now seriously, price cuts come as a response by one company to another company's move.
so until either company releases a new product that gets best bang for its price category, no one has a need to cut prices in order to bring a strong card into a price category in which they lost their lead.
get it? good. now go to sleep and by the time you wake up Larrabee will be upon us and Intel would undercut nVidia and AMD/ATI and force them to release very high powered cards at low prices.

 
yes but a company eventually releases newer products which compete with their own older products, or saturate the market. Either one of those WILL cause even a monopoly to eventually reduce the price of what they are selling.

Unless the report gives a DATE and AMOUNT of a price cut, then it might aswell be stating that the sun will rise tomorrow.

When I woke up this morning, I felt the gift of prophecy had been given to me while slept last night as well.

Something is coming now..getting clearer....almost got it......there!

Rollo the All Seeing predicts in days to come he will be posting things some will construe as controversial, most likely abojut video cards.

There you have it.

On topic, I don't know about a pricing strategy, but it looks like prices are dropping, perhaps for the holidays. GTX260 Core 216s at <$250 with Far Cry2 are pretty easy to come by, and they were $300 not long ago.
