Price check on Nikon D80 package

Came across what I think is a good deal on CL. I'm only looking for the 55-200 VR, but the guy is offering the items in the topic summary for $550.

Am I an idiot, or is this a great deal?

Seems pretty decent. I'm looking to sell my D70s with the 18-70mm lens; the same kit on eBay was going for $450, so $550 for a newer D80 and two lenses seems pretty decent!

It's impossible for me to stop hoarding camera gear when I keep finding deals like this!

Anyone else think this is a no-brainer?

Seems pretty cheap to me. Is it in a good condition? I remember checking out used d80 bodies a while back and they were selling for $500.

I've seen the D80 for as low as 300, the 50 goes for ~90, and the 55-200 VR can be found for $200.

I'd say jump on it and resell what you don't want. I'm sure you could get 400-450 for the D80+50 alone.

I think the d80 lost a ton of its value because the d90 is SO much better.

Went ahead and grabbed it. I'm pretty impressed with the 55-200VR. Gonna try and offload the D80 and 50 1.8 for ~$475 and end up paying only $75 for the 55-200 🙂. Anyone need a D80?!?!

I dont NEED a D80 but I would LIKE a D80. Since I dont have 550 bucks laying around I will go without. I can make do with my D40 for now and eventually will get something really nice.
Also, dont be suprised if the Moderators shut this down.

i have a friend who is interested in a d80, although i was thinking of selling him mine so i can buy the d90.
Your option would give him a lens, mine wouldn't.

Dont apologize to me, I dont care. In fact I have no idea WHY they dont allow price checking, but its supposedly a rule.
