PREY (thoughts)

After 4 years when it was released. It is a fun game and enjoyable nonetheless. It was worth the wait since I played the patch years ago.

Sadly I enjoyed it more than Crysis lol !

It doesn't have to be a sad thing to enjoy another game than Crysis, you know. I for one liked Prey, it was decent, nothing mind-blowing, but still fun, it had some very good moments though, the intro, then some "revelations", and of course a boss that happens to be one of the freakiest ideas for a boss I had seen in gaming for a long time, but I never got the story well enough, it was a bit hard to grasp the whole scheme of things, perhaps I just didn't payed enough attention.

Prey was pretty solid. I beat it on both 360 and PC. It felt good on both machines. Little short though, but felt like it progressed nicely

Yea. I played Prey last year for the first time; it was ok but had a few annoying bugs. Another game i played way after release that I thought was wicked good was Dark Messiah. I wish that game had been better received so it would have a follow on. While the game itself could use some balancing it had a lot of nice ideas and was a *lot* of fun to play (I think when it first came out it was considered buggy).

I really enjoyed Prey. Bought it for $2 I think about a year ago, and thought it was a lot of fun. Too bad it wasn't well received, since it was set up for a sequel and I would have liked to see how the story continued.

Prey was a very solid game. Gave us portals before their was Portal.

i have to disagree, prey had cool concepts, but it did not give us portal. There idea were doors that lead to other places. Doors with pre-defined spots. Portal was that you create your own start/exit based upon the task at hand.

Portal took the trick to new levels. Prey did it first though. Not that is matters you nit picker! lol

Prey was once Duke Nukem [when it's done..vapor ware..etc]...until I think the person who came up with the "portal" idea died..then another company decided to complete the game [or so that's what I remember/heard]. Prey was awesome...and so was Dark Messiah... 🙂 I thought someone was going to make Prey 2...but maybe that was also a rumor...

Never played Prey, but Dark Messiah was a good game. I have no idea why the reviews were so negative as everyone that I've spoken to seemed to enjoy it.

I didn't like prey at all, I played it on the 360. I gave it a solid try tho, I think 3 hours I played it then I took it back, I just couldn't get into it...

Prey was a solid and underrated game. The weapon designs in particular were quite unique.

Anyway, the game sold over a million copies, and a sequel is in development right now.

Prey's death system was incredibly gimmicky. However, I will always remember it for 2 specific rooms, the first was a rotating cube made out of smaller cubes the other was a room that tore itself apart while you were still inside it - very cool effects. If they had included more of those rooms they would have had an amazing game.

Prey is underrated imo. Very innovative game and it mixed shooting and portals well. The vagina doorways are very interesting.

Um, still haven't got round to it. I remember I started it then lost interest when it seemed it was all going to be set in a completely 'alien' environment rather than the real world one the opening scenes suggested. Might get back to it, but I far prefer games set in vaguely recognisable environments (hence, for example, the Black Mesa HL bits were so much more engaging than the Xen bits).

Prey was fine, very fine - except the beginning where you had to wait to hear all bullshit from grandpa.

I have the unpened collector's edition sitting on my desk.....It is on my "to do " list.

I am looking forward to it.

Yeah I loved this game. I played the demo and the first 15 minutes were amazing. Great voice acting, and subtle details like what was playing on the TV. I vividly remember this game. So much fun.

I have this installed as well. Getting ready to play through it again soon for the 3rd time.

"Don't Fear The Reaper" was an excellent choice for the beginning of the game.

I remember playing the demo and thinking that it looked very "plasticy". Aside from that, I've heard good things about it. Maybe I'll get around to it one day, but I've yet to play Mass Effect and it's sequel, so those are higher up on the priority list at this point.
