STEAM sucks, you can't even play single player games unless the network is up.

But thanks for bumping this, just cliked a link about to check price and found that the CE of the game is on clearance at amazon, $24.34 shipped for me 🙂

on the plus side, I think the devs get more money (cut out the publisher) if you buy via STEAM.

I liked not having to give VU my money when buying HL2, I only wish I could avoid giving Atari my money by buying through STEAM, but I dont think that will happen 🙁

I was at Fry's in Manhattan Beach (Southern California) and they had both the Collector's Edition and Regular edition marked at $17.99.

IDK... it really didn't hit home for me. It seemed very... repetetive. I enjoyed FEAR and HL2, though. Those were wonderful games...

Does this mean if I get this through Steam and play, it will get locked to my Steam account?

Yes, you will not be able to resell it later, not that you could get much for it, with the retail limited edition only being $17 new at Amazon.

there is a 10% of your first purchase coupon on gottadeal. for target

Shipping at target is 2.99 for the game and the game is also 19.99 for both versions

The first 25 minutes of this game were the best 25 minutes of a game I've ever played. After that it was meh, another doom3 engine copy like quake 4. Still fun, just not as immersive and believable as the first 25 minutes were. It's been a long time since a game has managed to pull the "suspension of disbelief" trick on me. . .prey was the first in quite a while. Those first 25 min are definitely worth your $25. The rest of the game is a familiar fps with puzzles interwoven. A nice time burner. You should pick this up.

they have the collector's edition for $17.99 at frys. i guess it's good only for those of you who have a frys in your town.

BB has the Collectors Edition for 19.99, Inside the usable nice tin *unlike UT2004's special ed* has 2 miniatures, coupons (some past dates), Art guide & DVD. My DVD also had a tiny scratch on it but worked. The game is Eye candy and am up to the Spirit guide level but, it is kinda (silly) easy. Fear & Fear EP or XP as some call it is more addicting and engaging. Something about Tommy the main characters snotty disrespectful voice is a turn off but I guess the beauty of the game is worth it. Detail / Art of the levels, characters, textures is remarkable and probably unmatched.

prices aren't marked at CC B&M ... but it is $19.99 at the register

i just got my AGP Sapphire x1950p/512MB today! ...

. . . how could i resist? 😛

😀

I just went to Bestbuy and bought it for $20. Very very good price so if AMazon doesnt have it, check with your bestbuy because mine had over 6 copies.

Good Heavens!

PREY is *beautiful* ... i have to agree with the first 25 minutes being awesome [that's as far as i got]

it is the pinnacle of what the Doom3 engine can do . . . way [way] nicer than Quake4.

if you have a fast rig it is *stunning* ...

[P4@3.2Ghz/x1950p-512MB/1GB PC3500 - *everything maxed*[noSS]/4xAA/8xAF]
