Prey $4.95 on steam (normally 20)

for this price, i already beat it but i am probably still going to buy it anyway, i liked it alot as it was a very twisty physics involved game. a funhouse of sorts

Any opinions on it? Reviews seem to say MP is dull cause weapons arent anything special (and weapons make MP imho).

Nice, picked it up, I love this killer Steam deals when they pop up. Got Two Worlds when it was $10 too.

Yes but you'll have to install steam and download the game onto every machine.

On cable modem, it took me around 40 minutes to dl the whole thing, maybe less, I started it right before I left work, and it was finished when I got home.

Great price for a great game.

This isn't another Doom 3-ish type game is it? I seriously don't want/need another chapter of Doom 3.

It uses the D3 engine but that's pretty much the only thing they share. It's not a dark as hell/monsters jump out from behind you and you don't have any duct tape game.

No it's different that Doom 3, other than the graphics I didn't think it was similar at all.

Okay, good to know. Thank you both.

It made some players nauseous when we tried the mp demo at our home lan party. Something about the sphincter portals and the disorientating wall-walking got to people.

This game had portals before anyone knew what a companion cube even was!

I actually really enjoyed the game. Good story, good gameplay, good graphics.. For $5, definitely pick it up

I got somewhat sick after playing Prey for too long, after playing for an hour or two I really need to take a long break and a glass of water, I still enjoyed the game but the motion sickness got to me. Strangely I don't get any motion sickness AT ALL playing Portal or any other shooter (or game for that matter).

Bought it, D/L it, and played it a bit.

Seems like a good buy for $5. Would rather have a physical disk, but oh well. Just wonder if I truly have to download it on every machine or if it can be located and copied from this machine?

The chick in the bar is pretty hot, but those portals that look like ***holes are pretty disturbing.

Running it on a 8600GTS 256Mb VC with all the settings full bore and it seems smooth as silk.

Thanks OP.

You can back up the game to a DVD or another hard drive as an image file and then load it back into Steam on another PC, that way you don't have to dl it everytime. It's pretty simple.

In Steam, right click on Prey and choose to Backup Game Files. Then you can burn that image to a DVD and then install it from that at that point.

Hope that helps.
