Preview Gone!??

Hey.
I have W2k SP2, and I was perusing some of my old a/v files and getting rid of the junk, when I realized the preview feature was gone. Whenever I used to click on a avi, mpeg, or asf file, for example, a preview of the movie would come up on the left side of the screen in the area of the window that shows file info. Well, today I just realized that that feature is gone. Perhaps it was removed in SP2? Can someone please tell me how to turn it back on?
 
Ok. I checked over at usenet and someone said this problem happens when you install IE6 beta. Well, there is no icon to remove IE6 in the add/remove control panel. I need to get rid of IE6.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't tell me I have to reformat. :-(
