Preview: 2003 Ford GT40...screw the Viper! ;)

That always displeases me when I see an everyday part of a $90,000 vehicle made out of delicate plastic. If plastic is the quality to expect that is easily-seen, imagine the crap that's under the hood. No wonder engines usually fail because of a $5 part... It's almost ironic seeing that much car depend on a console - that is opened and closed every day - made out of a clasp that barely holds and will usually break off..

Hell yea... the GT40 is gonna be sweet! I like FORDS.

<< Haha, the Viper is getting soft in its looks (and even cheaper/crappier in its interior). The new GT40 smokes it in looks, and look at that interior (aluminum everywhere). AWESOME 😀 So much for the black plastic crap in the new Viper😛

Cheapass, plasticy Viper interior
Gorgeous GT40 interior

Heresy!! The Viper 0wnz. Besides, the only interior that counts on a balls to the wall car like this is what's under the hood, and the viper dishes it out there. 😀

When you're paying $80,000+, I'd expect more than a big slab of LEGO for a dash and console 🙂 I don't care how fast the car is.

For all of the cars that cost ~$80,000 and more, the Viper has the most subpar interior of any of them.

Sorry dude...I don't buy that.

What's under the hood is the most important.

But for this kind of cash I think they can spare $50 to spend on the interior. That is afterall the part of the car you use most.

That's getting a Northwood and a GeForce 4, but then getting a 13" MCGA monitor with a $3 Serial Port mouse for your quaking efforts.

Thanks but I'll take the Sony G500 and the Optical mice (ie GT40)

Of course we are talking about a factor of 50 difference in price here...so....

This is sad.

That Viper and my Dakota have the exact same radio. For that kind of money, I'm think they could have put something a little nicer in it.

Edit: I just noticed the HVAC controls are the same also. :Q

i think bill ford will be very good for ford, the company, ford, the brand, and ford, the dream of many a male across the globe.

now if jaguar could do well on the F1 circuit...

LOL!!! I was thinking the same thing. You can get the same radio in the Neon!!!! 😀

Hell, they don't even give you automatic climate control. They give you manual control from a Neon!!!!!!! Haha, look at the automatic climate control in the Intrepid that you don't even get in an $80,000 Viper:

Talk about cheapskate bastards 😀

<< I looked again, the radio in my Dak is an upgrade from that one! >>

hahahaahahahhahahahahhahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

damn germans ruining chrysler...

<< Do you really think they will keep that interior? >>

For $100,000 I think they will (GT40).

That interior didn't look like it had any airbags, so some revisions are probably for certain.
Saturn-esque motorized shoulder belts would look pretty stupid in a $100,000 car.

it looks like a boat. and i'm not sure that you guys understand that the Viper is built for performance, not luxury!😛

No ones talking about luxury.

We don't expect the interior to compete with Mercedes....

But it would be nice to see a better interior than the crap they offer.
It doens't even *look* cool.

And it's flimsy and cheap.

Come on we are talking about an $80,000 car. People live in houses that cost less.

I think they could make a halfway decent interior.

I'm not asking for BMW 7 series quality here.

Hell the intrepid has a nicer interior...come on....how cheap are these bastards?

It's EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. It's not like their profit margin would get cut to 0 by putting in a nice interior.
