If you're using the windows client, view the available networks, click "change the order of preferred networks," and remove your neighbor's SSID from your list. It's also helpful to bump your SSID to the top.
also, if you go ahead and let yours connect to their network, then you can choose it and click "disconnect" and the status of that network will change from "automatic" to "manual" and it will never auto connect to them again. (unless you choose theirs and tell it to connect again)
