Keyboard

You may also be able to use the 10 dollar mail-in Rebate on Staples or just pricematch it.

This deal is from the HardForums.(just wanted to make this clear before the flamming starts)

for a few more dollars, you can get the same keyboard at axiontech.com, a much more reputable seller:

19.95 + $9 ground

resellerratings

sorry to crap on your deal, but being ignorant of inca-city's rep except for their resellerratings score, i thought i should post a deal that is almost as good and save everyone some possible headaches. Hopefully I'm just being overly anal and inca-city is an honorable dealer.

I am a tad resellerratings deprived, but Microtech Computers has it for $24 shipped. I believe it is the Dell-branded USB-only board though.

Go through Pricewatch for the deal.

The one from axiontech.com is also a "Dell Branded" OEM board. BTW, Inca-City Resellers Ratings stink. I wouldn't touch them. I love the keyboard though; I have the "cheapo", non enhanced model but love it anyway.
😀

The one from Shentech IS Dell branded 🙁 and it doesn't include a USB --> ps/2 adapter which I need (anyone want to sell theirs cheap?).

I complained that they show a non-Dell board on their website, so they told me I can return it 🙁 I think they should fix their web page. Alsmot bummed enough to give them a bad reseller rating. I hate seeing "DELL" on my desk... dunno why it bothers me and seeing "Microsoft" doesn't (the brand of the beast I tell you!). One of these days I'll drop by the hobby shop and get some fine grit sand paper for platic models, then it won't say anything! Oh... the calculator key says "Dell Support" under it... that annoys me too... and the My Computer key is labeled "Dell.com" 🙁

Ok... done moaning 🙂

Thanks for the heads up on that. I suppose the one I'm getting today will be Dell branded. If I'd known I was getting a Dell branded one, I'd have ordered from Axiontech.

I've owned this keyboard for two years now and love it. It's built very well and the media keys are great for winamp. But, if you do get it, consider buying it with the dual PS/2 and USB connector. At least on my system, the USB ports sometimes crap out (dunno why, new drivers and everything-it's actually a replacement USB card because my main ports blew out completely (think that was a Visor Edge issue)).

So, is the only difference in the Dell-branded vs. the Microsoft-branded keyboards that the Dell ones have USB only and the M$oft ones have separate PS2 and USB?

The Natural Pro board (M$oft version) I have now requires you to hook up both connectors.

I have the retail MS version with both a PS/2 and USB connector. Normally, you do not *need* both (I currently used USB only ... and it works in 5 different OSes ... and the mouse is dasy-chained off of the keybaord via USB).
