Well I was in need of some dress watches for my new adventure into owning a company

I bought a Gucchi (Yeah I know brand name but it was reasonably price and pretty nice looking) Gold watch from them that was 30% less than anywhere I found locally or online. They shipped in 2 days with free overnight shipping. No complaints so far so thought I'd pass the knowledge :)

Hopefully the name "Gucchi" isn't on your watch. I'd want one spelled correctly. ;)

Their price for a new Rolex Submariner is $4250...the same as through an authorized dealer, and the Rolex warranty isn't valid unless you buy it from an authorized dealer. But, for some other brands they have good prices, although if you work hard enough you can find authorized dealers who will match their prices (especially for TAG and Omega). In fact, I just bought a brand new Breitling from a dealer who gave me 35% off. :)

These are so called "grey market" watches which are sold by an unauthorized dealer. As such they have no factory warranty - the warranty comes from Authentic Watches, if they are still in business by the time you need it (the web site makes this clear).

40% off is a pretty standard discount for a new grey market watch (except Rolex, which is not discounted much beyond 10% anywhere).

Be careful that they do not file the serial numbers off. Some grey marketers do this to avoid having the watch traced to the authorized dealer that put it in the grey channel, but removing the serials will mean that the factory will never again be willing to touch your watch, even for a fee and it is also illegal in some states to be in possession of goods with defaced serials.

Actually the prices are unfortunately high. Watches are a pain in the but to price. Check out Overstock.com, they tend to have pretty decent prices. Like the previous poster said, careful with Rolexes, and unauthorized dealers.

True, but even though these are "grey market", authenticwatches states that they do not file off serial numbers...in many cases, Ashford does (they have a disclaimer on their site). That been said, I purchased an Omega Seamaster from Ashford and it still had its #'s, and has been a fantastic watch.
