Pretty sweet: 512MB PC2100 Micron Chips (probably Crucial memory) for just $53.00

Yeah, the bump in reseller rating lately is probably from all the people that hopped on the 63 buck 512mb 2700 micron that turned out to be crucial. Tons including myself ordered from them.

NOT HOT. Be vary careful when you order from these guys, I now understand why their previous reseller rating has been low.

Ordered the 512MB Memory, it was not Crucial, but the same generic stuff you get from Pricewatch. So if you don't get Crucial, you're paying $15 more for nothing.

Worse, the stick I got was defective. Called them and they said, "We don't guarantee compatibility," even though I have an Asus A7V333 and it did not say this when they advertised the stick of PC2700 memory. Tested on my friend's PC and it does not work. Furthermore, they charge you a TESTING fee, AND restocking fee. Not to mention I went through the runaround with tech support (email only), which although fast, they even had me flash my bios before sending me over to RMA. Now, I have never known Asus to have stability issues and all the reviews I've read have been good... Maybe you guys have had a different experience.

Just a warning.

and if you do get crucial you're paying $15 more for a sticker, because its the same memory
that being said, i dont see where you're finding this memory $15 cheaper

Yeah, watch out, getting Crucial ram is not a given. I placed an order last week and got my ram Monday. It was not Crucial (just generic stuff w/ micron chips), but more importantly it wouldn't work in either of my systems (error on boot) -- defective, I assume.

I'll be emailing them back today to see about RMA-ing. Sure hope my experience turns out to be better than yours, Anonx38.

I placed an order for a 2100 stick two weeks ago and it was Crucial. Not sure as yet if it works.

I placed an order for two 2700 sticks and haven't gotten them yet.

Nobody guarantees a Crucial. For all you guys that did not get Crucial and bitched about it, get a grip.

Crucial.com guarantees Crucial, pay the extra if you want the guarantee. I don't see any "bitching" (well, maybe
Anonx38 a little, but he said his was defective and they gave him a runaround). I personally don't care what i get as long as it boots and is stable at the rated speed.

As an update to my defective ram saga, the request for an RMA went through without a hitch. Seems like good service so far.

I got my two PC2700 sticks today and although they only stated micron they were crucial sticks. Don't know yet if they work.

Just emailed RMA and they credited my account, but slapped on a 10% restocking fee for the DEFECTIVE RAM that would not post.

This merchant is fine when you get bootable Crucial memory, but it's a bitch when you get something that doesn't work, and they will still make money off you. I'd advise you guys to check the reseller ratings and a couple of other posts from people that have had poor customer service / return experiences. IMHO, stick with Newegg, you'll be happier in the long run. 🙂

I'm running Crucial memory purchased from there and it works great! Their RMA process is great as well!

Wow...I just thought of a good business. Sell memory. Have roughly 40% of inventory be Crucial while 60% are generic which doesn't work. You may take a 5% hit on the Crucial memory you sell, but make over 100% of the generic because you get 10% from each person you send it to.

Cost of generic memory which doesn't work $20. Sell it for $50, they send it back, you still make $5. Put it back in inventory, and do it again till you get $100.

As you can tell, I'm very bored, but I really have trouble understanding why anyone would charge a restocking fee for defective items. If the items defective, it should NOT be restocked!
