I had one for a week in SF (thanks, Avis). A very good car overall, and an outstanding one considering the price. The engine on that is insane (I'm used to a GTI), interior is solid, handling is very good for what it is (a pretty heavy GT car). Good brakes (I was surprised by that part). It's somewhat crude compared to the Germans, but I don't mind it one bit. I loved it dearly. Oh, red 5.0...

The Mustang is the lightest of the pony cars out right now.

Congrats, I hope you enjoy it! I've never like mustangs much because the ride quality has always felt lacking and the interior felt very tacky. That's why I got a G8. Have they improved the ride quality and interior in the latest models? I might have to drive up and take one for a spin one of these days.

I like the interior. It has a chunky rubbery feel

I've never driven previous mustangs (or any fords for that matter) but I would have to say the interior is quite nice. It does have a lot of rubbery plastic parts but it doesn't feel cheap, more like rugged. I REALLY like the nav+sync system though. For instance, it automatically connects to my iphone via blutooth and I can play whatever music without having to take my phone out of my pocket. The speakers seem kind of meh though, even compared to my stock civic's.

Do yourself a favor, don't listen to bluetooth audio through the car. It's REALLY lossy and sounds like shit. Plug your iphone into the car via the USB cable and play music through USB. It's seriously 100x better sounding.

The stock speakers are pretty crummy, even by OEM standards so I don't think it will even make much of a difference. But I will give it a try anyway. Can you use just the regular iphone charging cable?

Yup connect the USB charging cable to the USB port in the car, and select USB audio as the audio source. Make sure you turn shuffle on as well. I know the base speakers aren't the best but the bluetooth audio is just AWFUL I swear it's like single channel audio or something.

My Fusion Hybrid the bluetooth audio streaming is kinda crummy and muddy/lossy sounding no matter the volume. With USB audio it's fairly crisp til you reach about 2/3 max volume then the bass starts making it sound all muddy again.

Hmm I tried using the USB connection but it didn't work, no sound came through even though it appeared to be playing. I googled a bit and found out that apparently sync doesn't play well with iphones over USB for some reason. Oh well.

Actually I figured out the iphone problems. You have to make sure that every song has artist, album, and genre info or it will crash. Also, if you are connected via USB, you have to set the iphone to output via dock connector instead of bluetooth. Hopefully it will work properly now.

Sweet car Quantum. Do you mind telling what the payments and insurance is on that thing? No way I could justify it right now. I might get one once I get a few things taken care of.

I also don't blame you for being specific in what you want. If I was paying 36k for a car it better be just what I wanted.

My insurance only went up a bit, to about $100/month, although I have several discounts for safe driving, owning home, having same insurance for house+car, etc. You can calculate the payments yourself with any loan calculator. I had about $10k down with my trade in + cash, and managed to get 3.5% apr for 60 months.

Addendum: I think I need to take drivers ed again. I seriously cannot park this thing straight. I've only driven short-nosed cars with tight turning radius before.

Where do you live and how old are you? I pay $619 every 6 months on the CTS-V and have similar discounts. I know my insurance went up about 25% when I moved to Atlanta.

You sure it's not your Bluetooth source?
I run my Vibrant through Bluetooth on my 2010 GT with Sync and it sounds the same as going thorugh the line in or playing from the USB.
