Hey guys, they have an SMC Wireless Access Point to go with it for $99. There's a coupon for 5% off and $2.95 flat rate shipping around too. It's reconditioned, but it has a warranty. The cheapest i could find it on Pricewatch was $139....it looks like it retails for $159+! 🙂 What's cool is you can put an external antenna on it to get some real distance.

It's a coupon link....nothing to host. You can find the coupon by going to Google and searching for Overstock coupons. I found one on the first try.

I think he was refering to the 8.10 firmware upgrade 🙂

btw, this card works great on both the Ipaq and the amigo PDA's, using the Orinoco Winter Drivers. I was able to stream mp3's from my laptop to my pda's, really cool!

DieselMan, could u please give us some details about your setup. Which firmware are you using? Dell 8.10, hacked Orinoco 8.10, or the orginal firmware comes with the card? As to the driver, are you using the Orinoco winter 2002 driver? Do you need to do any kind of hack to driver to make it work with dell card?

I'm using the Winter 2002 drivers on my ipaq with the Truemobile card. I upgraded to Dell 8.10 firmware before I tried it in the ipaq so I don't know if that was required or not. The Orinoco drivers did not recognize the card until I manually specified the driver. When you insert the card you get the unrecognized network card message and it ask you to specify a driver. I simply entered "WLLUC46" (no quotes) which is the orinoco driver name and it runs fine. After that it will auto recognize the card. No need to hack anything on the drivers.

BTW mine is an ipaq 3650 running PPC 2002
