Pretty hot deal on Alpha PAL6035 w/Delta 38cfm fan

I think I found a pretty hot deal on Alpha 6035 with delta if this price is true:

Svcompucycle Link

It says sale price of $19.99, and shipping came out to be $3.99. I think the shipping is $3.99 for any quantity too, at least that's how it came out when I ordered.

This is a very good price for the Alpha. Unfortunately, it's performance isn't quite as good as the new coolers out there. Of course, at $20, it's definately worth it.

Had this cooler on a 1.4 Ghz Tbird at 1.85 volts. Very warm but no crashes!

Yes this is a great cooler, and very well designed, but really only usable for an overclocked PIII or an AMD up to 1 - 1.2GHz or so. The screaming delta fan alone costs ususally about $8-10, and the Alpha without fan used to go for about 24.

bump for a bomb cooler. i have 3 ys-tech fans in my server case, you trying to tell me i can't sleep w/ the delta? haha.

I had that fan in my computer for a couple of days, but it wasn't worth having it sound like a jet engine running in my room constantly.

That is a nice price though, if you can live with the noise.

If you think the Delta is too loud, they have a solid copper heatsink for even less and it comes with a 27CFM staggered blade fan...

I actually had 2 of the 7000 RPM fans in my case. One on the cpu and another as an outtake fan plus I had an intake and another on a cpu shroud.i felt like I was on the runway at Logan airport everytime my computer was on.I have since tried to buy everything quiet including my PSU which is an Enermax 430W whisper quiet and I changed intake and outtake as well as using an adapter for an 80mm lower RPM but higher cfm to cool the cpu.My ears were killing me.Now they are starting to recuperate.😀

Opinions on whether a Thermoengine w/ delta, or alpha PE66T or the PAL6035 w/ delta is better.

All of them look good, just want some opinions to help make up my mind!

Thanks!

superlax22, i don't know the clip design on that PAL6035MHC looks pretty sketchy, and at 46dba it'll be loud, but arctic silver II for only $4.99!

with what they have to offer I would personally go with the Global Win WBK38, an all around good cooler but not recommended for excessive overclocking; also depends on what mobo you're working on, just be sure to make sure your mobo can handle the size of whatever HSF you are getting...

and i personally like the noise

just take time to do the research, don't jump to conclusions. cooling is ESSENTIAL.

Delta 38cfm is one loud fan, but somehow its hum is nice and relaxing. I got a athlon 1ghz at 1.333ghz at 1.75v without a problem on this cooler. Good price.

This is a pretty hot deal considering the Delta alone has been sold for around $13.. either way the alpha 6035 is a quality Heatsink

Does anyone know if this model, has the newer designed clip, that holds onto SocketA correctly? And not the older model, with a FCPGA clip?

Thanks. This is a great price.

Considering that the clip was changed last year, it probably is. I would email or call. Looks like they have pretty good contact information under "info and return policy"
