BestBuy had this 20% off deal off a bunch of their dvds. They also have free shipping or you can order and pick up from your local store. The only thing that they did charge was tax.

Here are the dvds I purchased:

Nothing to Lose: 7.99
High Fidelity: 11.99
Swingers: 11.99

Some other dvds I saw:

Rounders: 11.99
As Good As It Gets: 9.99
My Cousin Vinny: 8.99
Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo: 11.99
Strictly Ballroom: 14.39

They have a lot more dvds with the discount, I have no idea how long it will last.

I almost forgot.... LINK

Another good deal, if you're into battling the deadites, is Bruce Campbell's Army of Darkness (Boomstick edition) preorder. $20 with a free $10 coupon, which makes it $10.

Some great deals. Just bought Gone in 60 Seconds for $12.99 in the store. This move has some of the best chase scenes ever filmed. Could have picked it for $11.99 now. Aramgeddon at $11.99 is also tempting. Great find!

Great post, anxi80.

I found the deal on my own...or else I would have given credit. :)

i recommend anna and the king.. :) classic story told a bit differently.

it was filmed in my country, and a few of my favorite actors/actresses starred in it.

Man, still overpriced...but I have like 10 DVDs in my movie collection and I sure as hell need more

If I can find a place that has ALL dvds for 7.99 or 8.99 (poor college student) I would buy like 20 at a time :)

I tried going to the B&M but they wouldn't sell it to me for the discounted price. I suggest you just order online and select store pickup.

Every week or two, Bestbuy.com has some great deals on dvds. Last week they had 20% off columbia tristar DVD's, this week its Buena Vista. The dvds that were listed a few posts above are just the weekly sales ad deals. Bestbuy's website has quite a few more, including a good selection of Disney DVD's that may be harder to find.

Be careful with those new "Collector's Edition" ones that are one sale. I was in BB this weekend picking up a surround sound DVD system, and noticed something very interesting. The "Swingers" and "Clerks" versions that are on sale DO NOT say they support 5.1 surround on the box. I know for instance that the Swingers version that was there two weeks ago DID say it was in 5.1. Perhaps they are trying to get rid of some older stamped DVDs so they repackaged them this way.

Anyway, just be careful if you want the full 5.1 effect (which I do for my new setup!) If anyone else can either verify or disprove this, please post it. Swingers and Clerks were the only ones I checked, but there might be more in the 12.99 and cheaper category that don't support 5.1. The more expensive ones seem to.

Such a place exists, my friend! It's called the Columbia House DVD Club. The bottom line is this: you get about 8 DVDs, and they average out to $8-$9 each. You can search for old posts about it, or PM me and I'll give you more details.

That's why this BestBuy deal doesn't even look hot to me. I don't pay more than $10 ever for a DVD, because they're cheaper through Columbia House.
