How could does it have to be to spit and have it freeze mid-air?

If I remember correctly it will freeze immediately upon hitting the snow around -60F and freeze in mid-air around -80 F

Damn that's too cold.. I wonder how cold if you spit upwards and gave it a litle more time to freeze? Chicago people test this out tonight.

1. Go to the upper floors
2. spit from window
3. Result = frozen spit dart

It takes about 3.5 seconds for 5 ml of water to freeze at zero degrees, so using the acceleration due to gravity of 32 ft/sec/sec, you need about 60 feet of drop to make a frozen spit bomb. Assuming spit has the same freeze rate as water, of course. So if you spit from a seven-story building, the spit will freeze about ten feet off the ground. At that point it will have enough velocity to completely pentetrate a human cranium.

Any math people want to double check me?

The ice age is coming, I warned you guys for years, not enough carbon emissions, we're going to FREEZE!

Yeah, the part about going through a skull. It doesn't have enough mass with that speed to do a darn thing (mass and speed needed for energy). Reminds me of when I was told as a kid that a penny dropped from the CN tower could go through a car and 4 feet of concrete. lol

It's true.
Wrong, penny has far less energy than a bullet, many of which get stuck in people and can't even pierce that!

It's like if you drive a car REALLY REALLY fast through a brick wall, the wall will explode and the car is fine!!

It's 20F in Cincinnati right now. I'm just glad I don't live here anymore. They get lake effect snow every day now.

At 98015 80F with lows tonight dipping into the high 40s. :D
Fans are under-volted to silence and case temps are 90F while surfing.
Might go for a walk on the Seal Beach pier and listen to the game on a portable.
