Great deal for AMD owners. Not that great for Intel OC'ers since the 12V rail is only spec'ed at 18A. Unbelievable price for a 450W PSU, though!

Doobie,
I'm curious why you feel it's better PS for AMD owners, and not so good a deal for Intel owners

Shouldn't 220 be the highest possible for north america?

Do you mean wattage or voltage? Voltage can be higher than 220 V depending on how many phases there are. Wattage should have no limit, as long as you have enough current and the fuse does not blow.

I think hes refering to the fact that all(more or less) p4 boards require the extra 4 pin power plug, which basically consists of two +12v lines and grounds. I take it that alludes to the idea that the 12V line is more important to an intel setup. I'm not sure if this is true however.

However, comparing its specs to other quality power supplies, its not too bad, especially considering the price.

What color LEDs does the black one have?
Nevermind ...
They're multi-colored LEDs on the blue one they picture on OC.
The pics at directron show blue LEDs on the blue, green and plain mirrored ones.
It's odd that the LED color isn't consistent.
Those in the mirror blue differ between the sites.

BTW, The pic of specs on the back of the unit on Directron's site is completely different from the pic on OC's site and the specs are somewhat different.

Just ordered two. Who want to bet they send me green because I said they can subsutite (ordered black)? Will see.

uber sweetness.
<----- ordered two as well

edit:

dumb question: the three extra fans are inside the case right? i don't need any extra holes for the extra fans, do I?

wow, I didn't realize there were any subscribers left...

In the same boat, ordered 2 black but allowed for substitutes.

I'm in for two...one black, one blue and allowed them to switch as needed.

UPS Ground Shipping was $8.28 to me in Massachusetts for a total of $36.28.

Well It's after 9pm and the Deal is DEAD, they now want $39.99 for one...........ouch

But I guess that's about the right price for a 450w , 4 fan PSU

Hope they don't find an excuse to cancel my order !!!!!!!!!

Holy sh!t this was popular.

I cooler than I ever thought! 🙂

Now, if you will be lining up, you all will be carrying my babies..

these are closer to 300W true output than 450W. Point being, if your box needs a 450 you may be asking for trouble from one of these.

Otherwise, $14 for a ~300W is a good deal but watch out for exhaust fan failure potential.
