Pretty sweet deal but I bought a cheap 4850 for my ati fix. I'm really curious on seeing the next lineup of cards before buying anything better. I'll at least wait a few more days for the 4th of july sales. :)

4870 uses more power than the 4890... that psu ought to power your rig with either, unless u have lots of disks or something... and that's enuf cpu to see improvement over an 8800 with a 4890 in some games... slap a cheap 6000+ in and rock and roll...

I've been looking for a 6000+ to pop up on AT F/S since newegg is out of them...haven't had any luck yet. Thanks for the reply.

Astro I'd say build a whole new system. That CPU isn't exactly modern tech, and I doubt your RAM is great either.

Build a new box this fall with DDR3 ram and a fast dual core.

Yep that's what I'm holding out for. My rig runs COD4/5 CS:S and DOWII for me just fine right now. I'm going to leave it as is and hand me down to my son who's addicted to COD5 right now. I've been saving money to build me a nice intel rig this fall. After doing some more research today I realize it's not worth keeping up with the pieces..I upgraded it from a 7900GT to the 8800GT and bumped it from single core to dual core in the past couple years, so it's time to move on to whole new rig.

Not sure yet...the duos are still getting better gaming performance. I have a laptop for work stuff so this will be pure gaming bliss :)
