Good video though, but a lot of "well duh" moments, at least for me.

I loved the bit about the monkeys favoring the "s" key. :laugh:
Maybe if they'd get enough groups of monkeys, they'd have ones that would favor s, then h, then a, then k....and so on. So maybe with an infinite number of monkeys, you still would get the works of Shakespeare.

Yeah. Attributing coincidence to mystical or supernatural causes is something people do entirely often. It's mostly the "isn't is weird that we both have X in common"? thing that gets me. No one pauses to think about the truly staggering number of things they know about themselves or other people close to them that are available for instant recall and comparison. It really isn't amazing at all if you find something in common with virtually every person you meet when you consider that. Or the way thing's can seem "meant to be". In hindsight, all the events which led up to a particular fortuitous event should and DO point toward that event's occurrence. That event could not have happened if the things that it was dependent upon didn't happen. When viewed through the eyes of a mystic, the chain of events which resulted in anything would seem amazing and unlikely if viewed as a whole, but the only events we care about are those that happen to people.

Something else I see too much of is this whole "you're destined to meet the person of your dreams," or, "isn't it an amazing coincidence that we met at [uncertain place]?" This carries with it some implication of fate, which only is possible if 1) Some entity set everything into motion, 2) Said entity guides everything that happens, and 3) Free will doesn't exist.

Think of how many people you may interact with on any given day, especially if you go to some big social function. Think about how many of those people you didn't wind up dating and marrying.
