Although all this crap about her survival being a "miracle" is horseshit. NF is extremely serious and very much life-threatening but it is far from universally fatal.
I don't know what survival rates are for a case that has progressed as far as hers, but knowing how awful the media's reporting on science and health stories is I'd be very surprised if the "miracle" bit was overhyped.
