Prestige

Great movie, but not better than The Illusionist.

Where the Illusionist tends to paints things in black and white, The Prestige is chock full of shades of grey.

They are both great movies.

I won't include spoilers, but towards the end once everything is piecing together, I was REALLY hoping for a particular shot in the movie. They did show it, right before end credits. Awesome close.

I loved the Prestige. Never saw The Illusionist. Why are these two movies compared so much? Are they that alike?

Similarly themed movies that came out at the same time, most likely...

Yeah. Both are set around the same era, dealing with upcoming magicians.

How did he make the girl appear and disappear in the illusionist?

what was the secret of the orange tree?

I have been wondering the same thing since I saw that movie.
Anyone know?

Hmm I don't think it's really explained... as the title suggests, it's just an illusion 😛

The orange tree was just a mechanical device, no?

*Spoilers*

Remember when they were trying to figure out his tricks, they showed how to do a 3d image from a projector. They said he probably refined it. The Orange tree....well, that notebook showed a mechanical drawing on it before the end.

I saw the prestige last night.

Loved it.

Way better than the Illusionist.

Watch.It.

Illusionist > Prestige (by far)

Maybe I think its the other way around since I saw Illusionist 2 months ago, but just saw Prestige last night 🙂

I gotta agree.. the prestige is soo much better.. and here is why:

The cast of the prestige is so much better, and I love ed norton.. but as a whole ill take michael caine, christian bale, and hugh jackman over norton, biel and paul giamatti

I thought the illusionist while being very good.. was pretty predicatable.. where the end of the prestige I personally didnt see coming..
