Okay, so we bought a pressure wassure from sams club a long while ago, and it was $300 im pretty sure. It was 2.4gpm and 2500psi.

We returned it cuz it broke, and my parents bought this one: http://www.samsclub.com/shoppi....do?dest=5&item=325309 2.5gpm and 3000psi.

Except they said they bought it for like $480 bucks. That seems overly excessive...wtf?! It was almost identical just lower specs.

Thanks for your input!

What's the power and kind of motor? That makes a big difference. I'd call 300 bucks for a pressure washer "cheap" along with that cheap parts/motor that are prone to fail.

I've got no fucking idea how it broke. It would start and then stop, seemed like a lot of people were having that problem. Hope the nearly $200 bucks extra for this one is worth it. Spidey, im sure it is cheap, the industrial ones get really expensive, dont they? I feel like we did decent for what we spent, the thing is pretty powerful.

I think its this one: http://www.amazon.com/Karcher-...Pressure/dp/B000EDTSGU

Which would mean that we paid about the same. I guess as they get more powerful the cost per each PSI & GPM just gets a lot more expensive. She said its a lot nicer than the other. Costco.com sells it too (and its probably more expensive in the store):

The one at samsclub.com was the GB not the OH model, but that wasnt available in stores...so that must mean its the OH, which means that its about the right price.

The ones you posted seem to be the same motor.

Then again small motors aren't really complicated so maybe you had something else going on with the stop/start.

Based on the bolded part above, how did YOU get ripped off?

And yes, IMO, if your parents bought a Karcher pressure washer, they got probably ripped off.

Their lower-grade units seem to have poor reviews across the board.

Way too much pressure. 3k is WAY too high for ANY non commercial application. You would be far better off with half the pressure and double the volume for cleaning.

That kind of pressure will damage most finishes when handled by the untrained operator and will be slow.

Guess it is the better one of the three gas motors (has more shit included?)...seems the lightest though which is odd considering they are all the same.

Boomer...thanks for that. it seems that their cheaper ones got not so great reviews, but the ones that are similar to this got pretty good ones. i feel like there really arent many other kinds in stores from what ive seen (that are reasonably priced).

now i've just gotta figure out whether we got the g 3000 bh or the g 3025 bh, which is newer. if we got the older one i'll just return it.

thanks for your help guys!

Honda engine for one, and 2.5gallons at 3000psi is a pretty big difference over 2.4@2500psi.

2500psi isn't really enough for concrete.

don't listen to this guy.

He is not even specific as to what he is explaining.

For wood decks and the like then you can probably get by with less pressure, but for concrete cleaning ~3000psi is what you will need. 2.4 or more GPM.

Also the nozzle you are cleaning with makes a big difference. 0degs is going to be bad at even low pressures a lot of the time.

Of course many use pressure washers to clean things never intended to be pressure washed. If you are planning on cars...stick with small units and even then you are probably going to cause damage even at 1000psi.

Quick Google, how to pick a PW

That's a nice unit, the Honda motors are great. Quick nozzles are awesome. My sears unit only came with the 4 (the leave out the most popular 'Green'/25 deg nozzle).

I have had mine for a couple months and have used it about a half dozen times. My fencing and driveway/sidewalks look great.
