Now that the election has been undoubtedly won, let's discuss the inevitable transition and what a potential shit show that will be...

Edit: This thread is about transition possibilities and scenarios.
The meme below is just a joke. Not the entire topic.

I think he did a mix of the first 3 all at once. Apparently he's been sad over the last few days so we may have some depression mixed in.

We will never get to acceptance.

The Tweets about Fox seem like he's moving down to Anger...

Yet the rumors about him wanting to persuade the electors to vote his way seems like bargaining...

Yeah, he did angry in private a few days ago. Today the rumor is that he is asking about pardons for himself and his family, so I would say that puts us squarely in stage 3.

Geez, modern Americans always taking shortcuts.

Here are the correct and perfect Kubler Ross Stages of Grief (correct and perfect as this is how I learned them).

Shock
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Guilt
Depression
Acceptance

I think it is more like a World Wrestling Match. It is pure theater he is on stage and loving every minute while rolling in the cash form calls for support his election fraud claims.

But they've done nothing wrong, fake news, it's all a witch hunt, totally exonerated, Biden's family is the one that needs pardons.

Trump doesn't appear capable of functionally finishing the stages. He was running his scam for four years, and no doubt believed he could keep at it indefinitely. It's going to take the kick to the back of his head on Jan 20th to force him into reality.

He'll spend the four years of Biden's term spreading insane conspiracies, armchair quarterbacking his every move and doing everything he can to blow everything up. If there are credible criminal offences out there that can get him locked up, I really think it would be for the best to lock him up for as long as possible. In prison he'll have no megaphone and just be a martyr to the hardcore MAGA cultists. Free, he'll spend all his time radicalizing the entire GOP base even further.

After January 20th he won't be on twitter, as I suspect they will bann his ass. So he won't be stiring things up as much as people believe.

I think I know why Mitch McConnell refuses to accept Joe Biden as the president elect. Mitch knows it is quite possible president Joe Biden will get a chance to replace a Supreme Court justice. And while Mitch would love to deny Joe Biden his Supreme Court justice, its doubtful Mitch could stop it. Oh sure, Mitch would try but public outrage would be too much. And another thing, I fully expect Mitch McConnell will block everything president Joe Biden wishes to accomplish during the next four years. One thing is for sure, we’ll find out that Mitch McConnell is no racist. Mitch McConnell will block Joe Biden just as he blocked president Obama. Mitch McConnell, an equally opportunity ass hole.

Mitch won't be blocking anything if both of georgia's senate seats go to the democrates. That would put schumer as the majority leader. Which means Mitch can piss off.

So Trump is pretty clearly the worst president in modern history - maybe in all of US history.

My question to conservatives is you know he’s been a disaster. Our foreign influence has collapsed. He started a bunch of trade wars that he lost. There is a catastrophic plague killing thousands of Americans every day.

At what point do you accept that your political party has failed.

At.

What.

Point.

Never. I see them online all the time. It's a cult of ignorant cultists that think the election was stolen, only Trump really cares about Americans, Joe Biden is a radical leftist pedophile whose party wants to murder live born babies. These people are useless in a functioning Western democracy.

If there ever was any doubt... he would rather burn this fucker to the ground.
He is the very definition of an anti patriot.
Heal the nation. Fuck that, burn it down, specially if I can make 2 bucks.
This is what evil looks like.

I've never actually been convinced by that 'stages of grief' thing. Is there really any solid empircal evidence for it?

I am far from convinced Trump will ever show 'acceptance'.
Makes no sense to me. In the first place grief is the a real emotion and leads to healing so what we should really be talking about are the stages of healing. I would start that with depression, feeling nothing at all, to sadness when feelings start to come through, then anger when the sadness begins to have context, and then explosive rage, the last ditch effort of denial of feeling. They comes the actual feeling, the realization of what one is feeling which is grief and the awakening of compassion for oneself. That is healing. That which was buried and slept under the narcotic of denial awakens into real life. One can allow oneself to feel compassion again. That is grace. The awakening of love buried long ago by self hate.

Very few people go through them in order. People often do them out of order, progress, regress, etc.

Oh bullshit. He greatly fixed trade with Chiner and Mexico, because he said what needed to be said. He put Europe in their place, we don't need them, we protect them with our military and they don't pay us back, they use the money they don't have to spend on defense for gay pride parades. And we won the trade wars, look how much money our small farmers are getting subsidies from the increased tariffs they pay us! And the governors are responsible for their own states citizens, it's all actually Cuomo's fault somehow.

Holy smokes that is a most excellent rendition of a maga screed. Could have copy/pasted that from a typical "letter to the Editor" in so much of America.
