Went to DC to see the Inauguration dress rehearsal as it was much easier and fewer security headaches. Then I wondered down PA Ave to the Capital building. For Your viewing pleasure:

I've never made a trip to the Capitol, although I've been in the area. I got the impression from your photos that the White House is much, much bigger/grander than I had thought. Also the roads look pretty crazy, I can see a bus tour in my future.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm not sure how you would get an impression of how the White House looks considering that it's not in any of the photos 😉

Was thinking the same thing. 🙂 But yes, everybody owes themselves at least one trip to DC to see where government "works" as it were.

i decided to trek into DC for the 20th. Crazy, I know. But I'll go to see what I can get of the crowd and atmosphere... I know I won't get the Inauguration or parade... I'll leave that to the tv crew, heh.

You may have slightly better luck in Baltimore tomorrow. Obama will be there. I'm gonna go and hope I get at least one pic of him. Chaces are pretty low, though.

I live next to DC and I havent been anywhere near that place since all the insanity started.
My mom works downtown and she hasnt been too thrilled with it.
She was lucky enough to get tues off work.

I just got a Nikon D40 and have been enjoying it a lot. If I had more guts I would hop on the Metro and go take some pics.

Interesting, I didnt know Mrs Obama was a YN1.
