New York is being too mean to him

President:

"I cherish New York, and the people of New York, and always will, but unfortunately, despite the fact that I pay millions of dollars in city, state and local taxes each year, I have been treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state. Few have been treated worse. I hated having to make this decision, but in the end it will be best for all concerned. As President, I will always be there to help New York and the great people of New York. It will always have a special place in my heart!"

Governor Cuomo:

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, was not sad to see Trump go.
"Good riddance. It's not like @realDonaldTrump paid taxes here anyway," Cuomo tweeted. "He's all yours, Florida."

I love how everything equates to money with the President.
I’ve paid millions in local/state taxes and they are still treating me very badly...

Trump's victimhood knows no bounds. To be expected for a moron born on third base who's never had to truly deal with consequences.

Can he avoid arrest post presidency by New York by staying in Florida? Can NY law enforcement nab him at Mar-a-Lago? Would NY need cooperation from Florida because they are not going to get it. Gov and AG Republican.

I am sure the next President's new AG will ensure that law enforcement has reach.

I am sure, particularly for tax stuff. You can’t game the system by not paying taxes to your state for years then moving to another state. Rinse, repeat.
However even if he loses I really doubt we will see a former President jailed. Particularly this President because of all his twitter minions. There likely will be some deal as in:
No social media, business stuff is okay but that is handled by a marketing firm, no interviews and no books or blogs. Simply put we won’t charge you and confiscate x billion dollars from you if you and your family keep quiet.

Bring money into the game and Mr. Krabbs will keep his fucking mouth shut and never screw it up.

I'm talking about pending NY state charges. Remember he will be pardoned by Pence of any federal charges.

I’m sure moving to another state doesn’t prevent tax charges. I’m sure tens of thousands of people have tried this and failed.

Maybe he's afraid he will lose everything and wants to take advantage of their homestead provision.

Florida Homestead: Asset Protection Benefits
Florida has generous homestead laws that protect property owners from claims by creditors. These laws protect qualifying Florida homeowners from having their homes forcibly sold to pay creditors. Although other states have similar laws, several features of Florida’s homestead laws provide extra asset protection for homeowners:
  • Unlimited Value – Florida’s homestead laws protect an unlimited amount of value in a home. Even luxury homes worth millions of dollars are fully protected from creditors under Florida homestead law.
  • No Waiting Period – There is no waiting period for Florida homestead protection. On the day that a homeowner occupies the property intending to make it a Florida homestead, the home becomes protected from creditors.
  • Inheritability – The protection provided by Florida homestead law can be inherited by the surviving spouse or heirs of the property owner. As long as the deceased person does not leave the property to someone other than a spouse or qualifying heir or leave a will that requires the property to be sold, the home will continue to be protected from creditor claims after the owner’s death.
Courts interpret Florida’s homestead laws in a way that benefits homeowners. Florida homestead law has been applied to mobile homes (even if the owner of the mobile home doesn’t own the land where the mobile home is located), houseboats, motor coaches, and travel trailers. Homestead protection can even apply to property that is being leased from a landlord.

This refers to "home owners" though. I doubt that covers businesses and corporate land holdings.

I'd say it's an attempt to reduce the chances for prosecution and monetary losses, but even he probably knows he can't escape those once he's out of office. It may just be an attempt to avoid the living hell (as he deserves) of being heckled and otherwise called out every time he pokes his head outside.

Everyone is way over thinking this. A lawyer probably recommended the change to the President and he thought we the people in FL like, er....worship me the way I’m supposed to be worshipped. I’ll move there.

So, from now on, every stupid thing Trump says or does can fall under the "Flori-Duh Man" category?
