President Bush says we ought to listen to Osama bin Laden

Did President Bush say this before? Or is he just saying this now? Changing his tune?
Congressman Ron Paul said this, and people called him crazy. This is today's press release.

Yesterday, in my speech, I quoted quotes from Osama bin Laden. And the reason I did was, is that I want the American people to hear what he has to say -- not what I say, what he says. And in my judgment, we ought to be taking the words of the enemy seriously.

"...look, you want politicians making those decisions, or do you want commanders on the ground making the decisions?"

Umm, isn't Bush the Commander in Chief? Interesting how he is able to divert attention away from himself as the ONE person who "decides" about Iraq.

If Osama were dead or captured, it would be harder for Bush to justify continuing the war.

😕:Q😱:light::laugh: Same old George. Just took me awhile to work my way through all the Bushshit!

This has got to be one of the most pathetic rips on Bush from you guys in a while... you're ripping on him because he said we should take threats from Bin Laden seriously? What the hell are you loonies smoking?

You do realize that Al Qaeda is in Iraq b/c Bush said, "bring them on."

Hey---Fair is fair---GWB says listen to what Bin Laden has to say----even though he has said nothing for a long time as the supply of new Bin Laden tapes seems to have dried up.

And Bin Laden and AL-Quida says listen to what GWB has to say---and then Al-Quida just sits back as new AL-Quida recruits flock to join.

As for me---I think both are opposite sides of the same morally bankrupt coin. And if we all just ignored what both say, the world would be a far better place.

Do you really believe peace will ring out everywhere if we all ignored these two? There has always been war somewhere in this world. People dont trust each other. Heck, I was watching a late breaking news, and each station has their logo plaster on the screen afraid someone gonna ripoff their video. The world is the same old thing except for the gadgets.

As an Al Qaida leader said he wanted US soldiers to stay in Iraq so more could be killed, does this mean that Bush wants to use that as a reason to stay, or that he now suddenly wants to flee the scene?

difference between listen and obey.

Listen can provide a better understanding of what a person may be thinking.

Convenient that he wants us to listen to OBL in some cases but not others - you know like the reasons behind them attacking us, that should be ignored, but all the threats and so forth, we have to listen to him about that.

I thought you liberals were all about listening and understanding?

Maybe we can send Carter or Pelosi over to talk to Osama and engage in a real dialogue and then we can see what he really wants.

Wait - so Ron Paul suggests we should seek to understand those who wish to do us harm and he's viciously attacked.

Bush says we should listen to OBL and he's praised?

It's a strange world.

FWIW, they're both right. We cannot win the "War on Terror" if we dont even understand who and what we're fighting.

yup - just the other day we heard bill maher complain that we aren't listening to the terrorists. interesting.

Ok lets listen to what Bin Laden has to say. Strategically OBL aims to:

1. Defeat the US militarily like the Mujahideen did with the Soviet Union.
2. Break the US up politically
3. Bring about the ideological downfall of the US
4. Bankrupt the US economically

So lets look at what is happening.

1. The US army is being ground up in Iraq.
2. The truth is no longer tolerated in US politics. Look at how Ron Paul is being attacked. for speaking the truth.
3. The US is hated world wide now for it's imbecilic policies
4. The US is now the world's leading debtor. Each billion the US pours into the war comes from the US' new banker - China.

Bin Laden is more than a religious nut. He is a Saudi prince and knows excactly how the game is rigged. What brings down empires is economic collapse. Bush's stupid war is destroying the US economy.

So - is Bush really listening?
