There is a difference between an occasional flip-flop and the flat-out inconsistencies and contraditions that Kerry has expressed during his campaign.

First of all, you didn't answer my question.

Second, please explain your comment. I don't think there is a single person that knows where Kerry truly stands on the issues (as is proven by your inability to answer my first question). Care to prove me wrong?

Kerry's stance on issues are on his website:

http://www.johnkerry.com

And he gave a good summary of his plans on Meet The Press the other day.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032608/

As for your comment, name one thing on which Kerry has flip-flopped? And, if you can find any, find one where he didn't change his mind after thinking through the consequences. Thinking is something foreign to this administration full of ideologues.

But, his ideas and plans are far better to a safer and healthier America than are Bush's (lack of plans.)
That's not what America thinks.

From the USA Today article:

The survey illustrates Bush's strong edge over Kerry when it comes to national security. By 2-to-1, voters say only Bush, not Kerry, would do a good job in handling terrorism. By nearly as much, 40% to 26%, they say only Bush would do a good job in handling the situation in Iraq. Bush's approval rating on handling terrorism is a muscular 60%.

Because most of America doesn't want to think for themselves. They don't understand the precarious position in which Bush has placed our country.

IOW, if the president were at the frontline, fewer nations would wage war?

We agree.

See, that's a big difference between Republicans and Democrats. I don't think America is dumb, I think most Americans have some sense in their heads to make correct decisions. That's one of the reasons Republicans are for smaller government (please don't start the ridiculous "Bush made the government bigger" argument), tax cuts, etc.
But even if you think that you are smarter and a better thinker than most Americans, it won;t win you the election if most of the country doesn't think in your enlightened ways.

Your last statement is a sad indictment on this nation. We, as a whole, have become a nation of soundbites and headlines. The yearn to learn is gone.

As for not starting "the ridiculous 'Bush made the government bigger' argument', the last few Republican administrations are the ones that have run the national deficit up to enormous proportions. Clinton's last four fiscal budgets produced surpluses! Check out http://www.cbo.gov for yourself.

Spending restrictions were going in place (thanks to fiscal hawks like Greenspan). Cheney brought Paul O'Neill onboard to head the Treasury. O'Neill and Greenspan thought alike and both wanted fiscal responsibility to rule the roost. Well, we see what happened, eh? O'Neill resigned in frustration at the Bush administration's ideologues and the fact Bush put people like yes-man Larry Lindsey as head of the NEC (a position that's supposed to be a broker between Treasury and the President's Council of Economic Advisors.)

realize how smart the average person is, then realize that 50% of the population is dumber than him.

Moreover, the Democrats do not control a single facet of government, yet they somehow consider themselves "mainstream." Funny how their warped world works. :)

For someone who criticize the capacity of most Americans and their inability to "think for themselves," you sure don't sound like you think things through on your own...you sound like you have 3 websites stored in your 'favorites folder'

1.) LA Times
2.) NYT
3.) www.anyone.but.bush.com

I guess because typical Americans don't have 20,000+ posts here, you are far superior in intellect and your ability to "think." What do you do for a living?

The Republican President had fewer votes than his Democratic opponent but considers himself "mainstream". Funny how his warped world works.

..and the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, the states. What might the Democrats be running nowadays?

Ah...ad hominem attacks. The standard m.o. of right-wingers.

Let's see...the news sites I frequent:

AP
BBC
CNN
FOX News
MSNBC
Newsday
Newsweek
NYTimes
Telegraph
Reuters
Washington Post

And, wth does postcount have to do with anything? I've been a member here for 3 years but there are plenty of people who've joined recently who offer up sound debate.

The italicized part is another argument for another thread, I should not have brought it up here. As far as your first comment, I don't believe the "yearn to learn" is gone. I don't think that people who "learn" in ways other than mine are not learning at all.

Republicans are never responsible for anything. It's all Bill Clinton's fault :)
