Future Narrator: It didn't

(but I get what you mean)

Kind of goes along the lines of forgiveness.
Has taken me a long time to have even a small understanding of what it means and to be able to forgive nearly all I feel have wronged me (I am still working on one, not sure if I have forgiven him yet but I will surely know when I have forgiven him).
Forgiving and trusting are two very different things. I look at my petty grievances and compare them to really advanced people who can forgive someone who killed their son or brother.

Similar to the President. I want him to learn something from this, I want that learning to last, I do not want the sickness to last.
Forgiveness and accountability.

Every TV interview starts with the obligatory I hope Trump recovers.

Wonder what percentage really mean it? My guess <20%
Platitudes abound in the news cycles, again and again and yeah, you're gonna hear a lot of them now.

He polls terribly on COVID-related issues and he hates sickness as a weakness.

He's got it and it is ending his presidency. With any luck it drags down a bunch of down-ticket races and Ds pick up significant power and right the ship.

I can only hope that the SCOTUS is protected from this appointment.

Barr tests negative.

Sort of amazing how everyone in Washington is able to get results within 2-3 hours.
Imagine if we could get similar treatment. Easy to get tested, free and results within hours.
This should have been our goal.

Considering the most incompetent, ineffectual and laughable president in history is now indisposed, this is probably the worst time to attack the US!
Well, I take back what I said a bit. There are security threats to US assets in other parts of the world - like US Iraqi installations that have been facing continuing rocket attacks from Iran. Iran could take advantage of a temporary setback in US leadership to hit our assets harder in retaliation for Soleimani's execution.

His actions should have consequences. There are documented long term effects from surviving this virus, and that would only be fitting that he learns about those, firsthand.
There's a very reasonable chance that will happen, whether they admit it happening or not. In fact, since a candidate's health is always an issue in an election, Trump's have contacted Covid-19 is another reason to side with Biden.

Surely a sign from God He does not want the nomination to continue, and all good Christians will recognize and bow to.

I see it as a sign that we will never, ever have any meaningful climate change action in my lifetime. These are people who are convinced that they live by the Grace of God and that doing anything mildly inconvenient for prevention sake is unnecessary—“Praise Jesus and the Lord Almighty Amen Hallelujah we won’t get the Covid!” Anyone else who gets sick/dies did not have the Grace of God or it was just His will.

If they can’t be bothered to save themselves or their fellow man from a pandemic this year, how would we ever expect them to save future generations in 10 years/50 years/100 years???

Here is a great picture

That top or the pants need to change, I don’t like her color contrasts here. Maybe if she wore grey shoes it would work better in a monochrome way.
Also it takes a special kind of asshole to wear sneakers with a suit. I excuse old men under protest.
At bare minimum if you are going to commit that sin don’t wear shoes with a white sole.
God these people are classless oafs.

If enough maskless idiot Senators get it, there goes a quorum for confirming the Supreme Court nominee.
Trump couldn't see past his nose to see that coming.

His actions should have consequences. There are documented long term effects from surviving this virus, and that would only be fitting that he learns about those, firsthand.

I know two people who got the virus, got intubated, and were on a vent for weeks.

Both survived, but continue to have long running effects.

One had severe neurological damage. Lost ability to speak and walk, let's say similar to a stroke.

They are still in recovery after many months. Having to relearn how to walk and talk.

This is the realm of possibilities we face.

Could be mild, could be lethal, but could end up being debilitating enough we have a serious debate wether he has the capacity to govern.

Would Trump give that up? I'm betting hell no.
Would his cabinet vote against him? Those cowards?

This is almost the worst case scenario for the nation. Full recovery or death leads to clear government structure. If he gets zombified, Jesus, God knows what happens next.

I get the whole "if he dies of COVID he becomes a martyr to 30% of the country."

But for the sane portion of us, would a presidential COVID death cement his place as worst president ever? The discussions I've seen often mention him but then there always seems to be a strong push for what's-his-face that gave his inauguration speech in the rain, caught pneumonia, and died.

that be William Henry Harrison

But he didn't argue that the rain couldn't give you pneumonia and that it would "just go away magically" and he didn't have the ability to help quell the rain that would end up killing 204,000+ (and growing) of the people he pledged to support.
Honestly, even before this COVID situation, Trump was already in the front running. Then he miss handled COVID, killing Americans then contracting it himself? If he dies or not, he's the fucking worst ever.

I don't wish him harm ... I just want him out of the White House and into the Big House....

The deck is stacked against Trump, considering that he has three risk factors: age, obesity, and poverty.

If Trump is unable to attend the next debate, I see no reason that the debate needs to be canceled.
