Link to the review Pretty funny. AMD made this and sent it out to review. Pretty much makes fun of the Prescott cpu. Should get a good laugh out of it.

I didn't see this posted in General Hardware. So hopefully not a repost.

Some folks may think that shat is funny, and others may see it as immature. I really don't think it helps AMD's image.

So is this the type of stuff AMD's 1 man marketing department wastes his time on instead of trying to promote their own products? Pretty tacky AMD. You should hold yourself to higher standards then this. Then again, based on your track record until recently, maybe not.

I agree, they need to work on real advertising if they want to get anywhere. "AMD me" really doesn't cut it and now they have named the new lower tier chip "Sempron". Another stroke of marketing genius. Intel marketing must wait in anticipation everytime AMD does something so they can laugh their ass off. AMD builds good parts no doubt, but only enthusiasts or the budget conscious know.

I like to see a little immature jabs between companies. It makes it a little more fun, helps people blow off steam, and maybe keeps the competition as cut throat as consumers want it.

I like this stuff. It's pretty funny.

Sempron is a stupid name though. I mean, come on. I'd have named it Avalon or something if you have to keep naming them with -on.

Yeah. People take this stuff too seriously sometimes. I mean it's obviously intended to be a joke...nothing more. Laugh a little, it won't kill you.

😛

Sad, he used the beam from his optical mouse for special effects. I expected more creativity. Maybe include from SPF 5000 sun screen, and photoshopping a disection diagram of the sun with a Prescott in the core.
