I'll switch my new 2.8 ghz prescott from FAD to Seti for a day to get some benchmarks if you're interested. My main home system went from a 2.2 ghz p4 on 400mhz bus to a 2.8ghz prescott on a 800mhz bus. Gotta get home to do it, though, so it'll be tomorrow before I have numbers.

I think ars has a benchmark WU. That might provide more concrete information for people that pay attention to it. Reduces the number of variables anyways.

I've also made a SETIBench kit that you can get from here. It contains the Ars "standard" work unit and instructions.

Also feel free to peruse my mad l33t 12-page photo guide for newbies building their first PC, which is linked there (or in my sig) :D Got friends nagging you to build them a PC? Tell them to order a pizza and make their own dasm PC! :p

Oh, and I am considering doing a Dr. Seuss version of the guide too. :D LOL, but can I do 12 pages of Dr. Seuss on a technical subject...

I just built my first Prescott, running at 2.8ghz it did it's first 2 WU's in 2 hr 15 minutes (1 hr 7.5 mins each)
Just overclocked up to about 3.15ghz and am running second set of WU's - will report in the AM what it does overnight. ;)

Wish this was for me, but it's for a client. I get it for the "burn in" tho ;)

Currently running 3.6Ghz on a 257 / 1028 mhz FSB...

If it works long enough without blowing up I'll post some seti times ;)
