The evolution of marriage from the purchase and sale of one or more women to a man to the loving relationship between two humans continues. Every one of these small steps adds up to bigger strides towards a future where the dignity of all Americans and all Christians is recognized.

Song of Solomon 2 10:12

My beloved speaks and says to me:

“Arise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away,
for behold, the winter is past;
the rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth,
the time of singing has come,
and the voice of the turtledove
is heard in our land."

I don't know anything about presbyterians but it's nice to hear something like that :)

They didn't really recognize it.
The amendment requires approval from a majority of the 172 regional presbyteries, which will vote on the change over the next year. But in a separate vote that will take effect immediately, the Presbyterian General Assembly allowed ministers to preside at gay weddings in states where gay marriage is legal.
Step in the right direction. Perhaps, they are going to remove the line where Jesus states "I hate fags" that is so often quoted by religious folk.

Also, sounds like them allowing gay priests caused a lot of churches to leave for more conservative religions. I wonder how long Presbyterian will be around.

I'd love to even see this expanded to "between two or more consenting adults". Why can't three people, for example, all get married to each other in a poly relationship?

Technically it's still legal here in Saskatchewan.

Shouldn't that be there's always three in the crowd? ;)

We're in the odd position that it's easier to find a reasonably mainstream Christian church willing to marry gays than to find a state government willing to sanction it.

The problem is the bible is very clear about homosexuality, so any church or religion accepting it as ok needs to find another book to base their beliefs on.

It's pretty clear about a bunch of other stuff that people don't get worked up about as well.

I wonder if you have any tatoos?

Leviticus 19:28

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

I do not. The old testament had many rules however that were for Israel and Israel alone, the law as it was called or the old way of being righteous in God's sight all changed when Christ came. (New testament)

Leviticus 18:22

King James Version (KJV)

22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

I'd bet the church that does that fails.

Isnt that old testament? Like should they wipe out whole towns and bash their kids in the head with rocks too among other atrocities?

Thats problem with bible they pick and chose what they accept and leave out of old testament.

Whole thing is absurd nonsense but its funny to me way they do it.

The 1st passage is,the second one is NOT.
Romans=New Testament.

And actually everything in the Bible is consistent throughout.

You don't actually believe that do you? Genesis isn't even consistent throughout on the order in which god made everything and that's just the first book.

You're going to try to ridicule now.
Yes I do.
and I will;no matter what you say.
Things in The Bible are consistent.
You may be able to take some things out of context and try to convolute them,but..
It's a futile effort.

You're welcome to believe whatever you want, but it is pretty impossible to say the bible is always consistent.
