Not off-hand, but...

The best thing to do is remove the fan you want to replace, and take them to an electronic supply house, Radio Shack, Fry's Electronics, or wherever. Have them measure the size, check the voltage and speed, yada, yada, and, tell them you want the quietest fan they have.

Most likely, you'll end up having to do a little soldiering -- using your old plugs -- but maybe not.

I've picked up some excellent military-grade fans, for pennies on the wholesale dollar, at Ham swap meets, but they usually sound like leaf blowers, so that's probably out.

Anyway, something like that would be your best bet, IMHO... ;)

Welcome to the AT forums.

At places like http://www.sidewindercomputers.com you can often find direct replacements for Dell fans if the reason your fans are noisy is that they are just wearing out. But you need to know what you are starting out with (size, speed, current rating) to get something that will work in a Dell as they are usually tightly tuned to the OEM fan.

OTOH, you can use any fan that will fit hooked to a manual fan controller to get good results. So report back with the size(s) of fan(s) (make and model no. would be useful too - often you can see the labels on some of the fans from the back of the case) you need so we can give some suggestions.

Ooops, my bad. I guess have Dell on the brain. The Compaq's aren't such a closed system = less difficulty in getting replacements.
