I think after todays press conference that I watched on CNN I have a very low opinion of the presidents
ability to answer reporters questions and do any speaking whatsoever that is not written for him. He seems
lost at times. Anyone else agree, and or disagree, I would love to see the president on O'reilly Factor

What do you expect? It's CNN (Clinton News Network).

Yep. I don't think anyone voted for him because he was good in town hall meetings :D

I think he's a moron when it comes to thinking for himself on topics other than the top 2 or 3 (if not 1 or 2) that he's comforatable with. We're used to a president being able to bs his way through anything, while this one can't bs his way out of a paper bag.

I believe he did an interview with O'Reilly while he was still a presidential candidate. Of course, the interview was taped so their might have been some editing for time purposes. It could also be, however, that he was more comfortable in a one-on-one situation than he is staring down dozens of newsies.

Yeah they had to because it took that long for him to understand what they were asking and give a piss poor answer

Bushisms will set the record straight. ;)

Speaking of the Presidential debates, Bush won them all. Why? Because Gore was supposed to easily roll over Bush in the debates, but he barely pulled out a technical draw. So as far as the voters were concerned, Gore lost big time.

They were asking him about the Oil stock deal repeatedly and he came back with the same canned "This has been fully vetter before, this is the same old political game answer again and again" It was kind of funny in a way. He had obviously been coached not to give them anything.

I don't really give a damn who won any debates, and I am not a fan of al gore, thus the topic of how our current president
does a bad job of answering reporters questions and does a good job making himself look foolish.

So you're saying he's a good public speaker? I hope not. I'm afraid it goes beyond public speaking tho, I think he just doesn't have a clue most of the time unless his cabinet briefed him about the issue right before he's being questioned on it.

I am more interested in his actions than words. If he puts some teeth into penalties for corporate fraud, he can talk like a drunk on a binge and be ok with me. If not, then he can be as silver tongued as our former President, and I will think ill of him.

LOL. So true...:)

Maybe Americans will wake up one day and notice how helpless they are.

Maybe.

Sharing thoughts and ideas, including opinions and even criticisms, is an important part of the democratic process. It allows issues to be discussed from a variety of people with a variety of perspectives. This open process will also help enable us to make the decision that we feel is best when its time to vote for one candidate or another.

Hayabusarider made an excellent point tho, and we wouldn't have been exposed to it without this discussion.

With that said I think Bush is still humorous (if not painful :p) to listen to tho. :D

Yes actions are important, but do you really want other countries people and leaders to think of him as weakminded or that he does a horrible job in front of a camera when he is not reading someone elses speeches, perception is very important and does not only have value in the election process.

Yeah, he managed the "stumble" his way into the Presidency.. one of 40 or so people in the HISTORY of this country to do so.. Yeah, he's a complete moron..

People too often mistake good public speaking for intelligence.. I bet Bush would make just about anyone at Anandtech look like an idiot on most any issue.

He has degrees from Harvard and Yale... was a pilot in the miltary, and owned part of a MLB team for a time.. Yeah.. a complete idiot..

Oh, and don't forget he was the Governor of one of the largest states in the country for 4 consecutive terms.. I know, everyone is a 4 term governor these days... big deal..

Would you people criticizing him please post your "credentials" so we can decide whether or not you are idiots as well..

Remember perception is reality. He sounds like an idiot therefore he is and idiot.

I'm not saying it's right, but that's the way it is in life.

its not hard to get into yale when your dad and grandfather have been prominent political figures that attended Yale as well. The Harvard Business school was obviously along the same lines, as he was only in the bottom 20% of his yale class. He was a "pilot" in the military b/c his prominent father could get him into a specific air division that woudn't see combat. His 2% ownership of the Texas Rangers was largely a good will move from family and business friends. Not much of the stuff he did required much mental power.

My credentials? i'm a High school senior. Doesn't mean the truth is hard to access.

No one said he can't learn things, just that he can't learn them unless his cabinet briefs him on it 30 minutes prior to a scheduled news conference. :p

Anyhow, this idiot isn't president. Bush gets compared to all the other presidents and leaders of the free world, not to me or us here.

He was elected by "influence" (corporate and political) who basically bought the presidency with his 100mil+ budget and political roots.

However neither of the accomplishments you sited necessarily qualify him to be a president (except maybe owning the Rangers :p) and make him knowledgeable about current events, nor do they guarantee wisdom in how to handle them.

And by the way, Texas isn't really a state, its more of an "unfortunate circumstance" if anything. :D

I don't understand why if Martha Stewart is in deep sh8T, and bush isn't. Bush dumped his stocks right before it crashed. The only difference was he did it before the Enron scandal. THe SEC investivated, although it ended up not charging him with anything, It sent him a terse letter saying the absence of charges does not mean that he was innocent. And there were serious ethical issues involved in his sale. The word "vetted" was used because his speech writers don't want him to use words like "exonerated" or "innocent" because he was not. This is like that Kennedy cousin found not guilty of rape, but the judge told him that doesn't mean he is innocent.
