True for me too...though on occasion I'll blanch some florets but I don't consider that "boiling" them

They have these awesome frozen brocolli bags that you throw in the microwave. They puff up and steam the brocolli.

I actually thought about it. I probably eat broccoli 5 days a week. So good and so good for you.

Yeah, I love broccoli. It's a definate regular on our dinner menu...broccoli and cauliflower are the usual veggies served at our house. A dinner isn't a proper meal without a veggie.

As far as steaming goes, it's really handy to have an electric steamer. Simply fill the base with water from your faucet and plug it in, dump in however many veggies you want, and spin the timer dial. It's $30 on Amazon:

Frozen broccoli takes 20 minutes, fresh takes 15. I prefer frozen because I only have to buy a big bag from Sam's Club every couple of months. If you really want to have some fun, get yourself a FoodSaver:

I make individual-sized veggie packets for broccoli, green beans, mixed veggies, cauliflower, etc. It's almost like having a TV Dinner handy. Completely removes freezer burn and lets your veggies last 2-3 years. This is REALLY handy for stir-frying too.

OR you can get a pot with a steamer (pot with an insert, like this) and broccoli takes 8 minutes (12 if you include boiling the water).

And I eat it steamed, nothing else. Why would you ruin broccoli with anything else?

As an aside, I do the same thing for yellow squash but I like to put a little salt on it.

Stir-fry first then throw in some water and steam/boil for a few minutes.

Steamed and then tossed with a lemon mojo and some pepper.

edit: We have bamboo steamer and a wok.. so that's what we use for steaming veggies.
