Preparing a Win2k drive

Got a buddy who just bought a machine with a Asus a7v socket A mobo. He has a 19gig 7200rpm/66+ hd. It came with WinME, but he wants to use Win2k. To prepare the primary drive, I created a new partition, fdisked the /mbr, and formatted as a system disk. However, the Win2k installation doesn't seem to be able to see the disk to install to it. BTW, I did this stuff with a Win98 Startup disk...could that be the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide 8)

You need to either press F6 durring install and install the promise Ultra100 drivers, or you need to plug the drive into the ATA-66 connectors (the upper ones) on the motherboard. And you don't really need to do any formatting or F-disking, because the Win2K install can do it all for you.
