I'm willing to pay for a good theme, like Fallout 3 or something along those lines - but the selection really sucks ass. The old themes also don't translate across as well as MS makes you believe.

Supposedly nxethemes.com will allow you to preview any and all of them, but I can't seem to connect to the website (it is not affiliated with MS).
 
While I agree that the 360 should make previewing not only Themes but gamertags and what not available, NXE Themes is a site that you can use to preview themes. Hopefully, it will stick around unlike the Dashboard Themes site that went under.

The fact that I can't connect to NXE Themes right now is a bit disconcerting. :/
