What tools did she have at her disposal to secure the border?
Besides the ear of the man who appointed her, Biden himself?

Odd that the previous president was able to secure the border by implementing Remain in Mexico that kept asylum seekers out of the US, halted the outrageous policy of "catch and release" of illegals and actually appropriated funds to build physical border barriers despite strenuous efforts by Democrats to prevent it. He even tried to shut down the government over illegal immigration. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer would not give in with funding for border walls.

All these efforts were stopped immediately by Biden and Kamala the day they took office and America was absolutely flooded with millions upon millions of illegal aliens.... to the point even "sanctuary cities' cried for federal help and asked for mercy against the flood.

Biden and Kamala wanted the flood of migrants to happen. They told them "do not come" as if three words meant anything - their actions clearly said otherwise.

Trump never secured the border so you can stop lying about that.

Trump never stopped catch and release so you can stop lying about that.

Trump did not appropriate funds for anything. That is not a power of the Presidency so you can stop lying about that. Trump misappropriated funds that Congress had provided for other purposes, a criminal act on Trump's part.

There has been no "flood" so you can stop lying about that as well.

But I'm lying when I say you can stop lying because, clearly, you are incapable of honesty.

Ofcourse the right wing feed.. blame it on Biden and Kamala. BTW I can probably NAME 200 people who came illegally across the border during Trump time. 10 of them live in the house next to me.

But anyways what to do about crime? Oh right nothing because congress and cops won't do anything just to blame the dems.

It's obvious..
1. do nothing,
2. don't let anyone do anything..
3. make sure nothing gets done
4. donate to Trump!

Felix you've been had!

^ Yes you can name 200 migrants that live next to you and I explained how the previous president kept them out and the current one let them in. There is no denying it. Biden loves them and doesnt care about the border.

In fact, Biden hastily made a deal with Mexico to slow down the border surge to keep it out of the headlines for the election. He could have done this for the last four years, but it was all about revenge migration now.

As far as crime, I support the police because policing is a very hard, thankless and dangerous. The best we can do is punish offenders and execute those sentenced to death.

Many states do not perform executions but carrying out the sentence is part of the criminal justice process. Justice delayed is justice denied. But again, liberals. :(

executing the wrong person is not justice at all. and knowing that our system has an unusually high false-positive rate when it comes to death sentences, would you prefer the innocent still be executed? or perhaps we should not pursue a process that we cannot correct if exculpatory evidence is found at a later date?

They came here under Trump dude. I know this because they said themselves how they crossed the Texas and Arizona borders in 2018-19.

The border was wide open then too.

If you think it magically closed and a wall stopped em.. you're living in a made believe fantasy land of pure faith.

Faith that your guy is good and the other guy is bad.

These are patent lies easily refuted by one's actual desire to see what happened in the real world. DJT demanded Congress reject the Democrats deal to give Republicans the dream border package that they always wanted. It's plain and fucking simple: Donald Trump shut it down through the mush brains of his sycophants in Congress, because NONE OF THEM want to do anything about the border.

This is a plain, indisputable fact. You are lying, and you know it. You don't give a fuck about the border, you unread cvnt.

I hate to break it to you, but the world's population is increasing and more of it is becoming uninhabitable. Unless we start grenadine kids at the border, it's not going to slow down until certain regions are abandoned entirely (a few decades). You can't complain that it's a given president's fault that there's more migrants that want in, it's not related to them... Aside of course to the job opportunities and general health of the nation, to which I am glad to see you agree is better under Biden than Trump.

As Harris mentioned in her speech, Biden was prepared to sign the latest Border bill. It was blocked by certain people.

Certain people don't want a solution to "the Border, oh noes!" they want an ever-present source of fear to low-information voters. No facts or stats, just feelings about a "flood" of awful migrants coming here to wreck the country (certainly not to work in jobs that almost no Americans will do, nope that couldn't be...)

It's pants-on-head nuts when you hear rubes in places like upstate NY say "the border" is their main concern...like they've ever even seen a "migrant" let alone be affected by one.

Harris was tasked to see what she could find out, and do, about the source reasons about why so many migrants are coming. That's the sort of complicated concept that goes "whoosh" over the heads of way too many. Not exactly an easy problem to fix, but it's the right way to start. Just like the War on Drugs is a failure (to all but the private prison business), if you can't find a way to fix the source demand there won't be a fix.

Now that is something different. If she does in fact win, will she do a damn thing about it.

If the exact same bill is put forward, will she sign it? Or is this just playing the blame game to pretend she cares. The last four years showed she does not.

I agree. We need to fund abortions and begin population control efforts worldwide.

Fox News goes on the air and calls Kamala Harris the original Hawk Tuah girl. But that's not sexist, right? If the right is trying to piss of women, they are off to a roaring start.
The women they are appealing to are already abused and know their place.
The sort would attack other women for not upholding moral standards.

Aunt Lydia is a prime fictional example, of real people.

I don't know. I can't predict the future. If Biden/Harris were going to sign it while in office, my guess is that they'd sign it again. All I know is what has already happened.

We can all find stats on estimates of how many people have crossed, how many people have been detained under current and past administrations. My impression is that not all that much has changed with any of them, although the situations in their home countries has worsened (which is why we have so many in the first place).

I'm not convinced "the Border" is such a problem that it should be tops on anyone's list, mainly because there is so much lying and fear-mongering about it. It's "a" problem among many. Ymmv. My top issue is climate change and half of America thinks that's made up, so what can you do.

It's confusing, I hear from people on the right that the country and the world is over-populated, yet we need more babies. Their yearning to get rid of no-fault divorce (women should stay in the kitchen in between pumping out babies for their man, uppity wenches), abortion and birth control is evidence beyond talk that this is what they want.

If only I could find that one key missing element to make these two contradictory ideas make sense. It's white there in front of me and I still can't seem to put it together....
