The economy in the countries that are outsourced to will improve vastly, due to the influx of tech jobs until it gets to the point where the people are going to demand higher pay to live better lifestyles. Once that happens companies here will have no reason to outsource, due to both less money saved and increasing tension at home due to their actions. We will get our tech jobs back, the reason we lost manual labor to other nations is because nobody here WANTS to do it. We have plenty of skilled, willing workers for the IT industry, and it is only a matter of time before those jobs shift back here.

Tech support though might be the exception. But that's more akin to a manual labor job due as far as the low pay/benefits/skills required are concerned.

But if someone wants to use that as an excuse to screw off in college and bitch about why they can't find a job with a 2.2gpa then by all means they can do so. Because I see that a lot. So yes, please quit CS and in fact all IT fields. More work for me!:D

law? that was sort of random, seeing as we've heard nothing about outsourcing legal services to foreign nations.

N. Korea will still be threaten to fvck over everyone but will stop as long as we pay ransom. Chinese labor will become less popular as wages continue to fall here . There will be a growing separation between the rich and the poor and less and less people will be in between.

i doubt we'd ever pay ransom to north korea, but the rest of the stuff might happen.

There will be de facto prevention of new business because of the inability to compete with massive corporations while starting up.

no, this will not happen, at least not in the next 10 years. massive corporations are notoriously un-agile and risk-adverse, which limits the ways they can explore innovation, giving a substantial edge to smaller companies. often times, by the time they see the future, it's too late. it's possible for a massive corporation to stay on top of everything, but they would have to not only have tremendous resources, but a totally different way of operating than they do now, one that encourages exploration of small markets. and that change is not going to happen in 10 years.

I could be right, I could be wrong. I admit though that I have a pretty negative view point.

not only is your viewpoint negative, it's pretty much unsupported as well.

In 10 years the Asian econonomy will have risen to a point that it wont hardly be worth it for US companies to outsource jobs to them. Thats what I think at least, no idea if it will happen or not
